[I ran out of time, so I had to either start the thread, and finish later (now) or start the entire message over. I chose the former]

I knew Ripforce and his buddies were there, but, regrettably, they didn’t have the distinct pleasure of meeting me. Instead they had the even greater distinct pleasure of seeing me… and making a quick exit.

      Any others?

That’ll be my next broadhead (left-wingers). The Abowyer Brown Bears are nice, the El Grandes are sooooo much cheaper…unbelievably so!

          We can ALL relate! 😉

            Yes, it’s target panic.

By using the turbulator one should be able to use smaller fletching in a straighter pitch, which would be quieter than larger fletching on more of a helical. All else being equal.

Jason Wesbrock wrote an excellent article in the Aug/Sep 2010 TBM (Yes…I can see into the future 😉 ) titled “Just A Click Away”. It addresses his encounter with target panic.

I’ll never forget this one show I saw in disgust. It was so ridiculous on so many levels:
This guy is rattlesnake “hunting”. Has a “guide” who has a long stick and upends rocks when he hears them under it. He then uses the stick to pick up the snake, the idiot/shooter gets into position, then the “guide” sits the snake back down in an open area, maybe 10 yards from the shooter. The shooter than proceeds to shoot at the snake. When he finally gets one, he starts yelling, all pumped up, like he just won the superbowl.

How unbelievably pathetic it was. I was actually almost somewhat embarrassed for them. They were so clueless as to how stupid they looked.

The blue course was on the other side of the road from all the other courses. It was BY FAR the muddiest. Well…I didn’t shoot the orange one, so I don’t know that for certain. The orange and green courses were the tough ones for me to find. I should’ve broght a GPS 😆

Faceless to me since I’ve never met him or his sons. Noone’s saying “big” companies are bad, good, or otherwise. By the way, I was referring to Rick Stillman, aka “Fletcher”. I’ve met him, so he is no longer faceless. No matter what though, I wouldn’t buy from him if he didn’t have a good product…and he definitely does!

Nice Clay! Instead of eating them, you might want to consider having them mounted…full body mount of course. The “european” mount really doesn’t do morels justice.

Just to be clear, I’ll add this —> 😆

Here’s another, and probably the most important reason to me FOR switching to wood arrows: Id rather fork the cash over to Fletcher, and those like him, than to some big faceless company.

I’ll give a slightly different opinion:
I think it’s ENTIRELY the brace height. I can’t imagine a bow with the correct brace height slapping your arm that hard even if your stance isn’t “open” enough. A more open stance should be optional, and based on your shooting style preference, not out of fear of amputation.
