in reply to: What ya got goin? #13158I found a 2 week gap in the employee prison fence:D This was the 1st of 2 so far. If I’d have had my bow I’d have shot him….for compliance reasons here:lol:
in reply to: Road trip with Elkheart #10915That’s so cool that brotherhood you share. If I may ask, did you guys know each other outside this site or connect thru it? Glad to get the update!
in reply to: Most Embarassing Shot Anyone? #51602The mention of those early climbers prodded a neuron….whatever the climbing seat was..it had a damn wing nut you had to unscrew and re-attach if you hit a knot, etc., on the way up. So there I was, about 0900 because I couldn’t find my tree that morning….start climbing.. had to adjust with the wingnut, and yup, ping-ding-ding I dropped it and it hit every piece of metal going down. So there I am holding on to the trunk with an unattached seat, thoroughly disgusted, when a nice six walks right in and noses around for a long minute or two. I got hyper-extended once in that thing when it slipped out from under me. Good riddance to trees!
in reply to: What ya got goin? #51166No, I wasn’t there. I’d heard of it but didn’t know for sure it was in Michigan:roll: Getting me in a vehicle on a weekend is a challenge with all the miles I log for work.
in reply to: Field packs, loads etc #51154Jim – thanks for sharing all that! What is the “shemagh” you refer to? I’m guessing firestarter because of the “mag” in the word?
in reply to: Backcountry College # 9 – Bury a Dutch #50461Most excellent! Made brownies in one like a hundred years ago. Thinkin’ I need one for the backyard fire pit.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #50134Beautiful here too after a rainy, t-stormy week. The past 3 weekends have been perfect weather. I may mow today. I may not:wink: Enjoy the day!
in reply to: What ya got goin? #46119Ya don’t need no words with pics like that! Little bit of heaven right there.
in reply to: Most Embarassing Shot Anyone? #46057Thanks for the stories up there! Worst part of my story was my longtime hunting bud was in another tree near enough to see the whole thing. That buck was going right toward him. He still gets a good laugh out of that.
in reply to: Limb tip protector #43729I don’t use one. I drag my bow through all kinds of junk and it seems fine. Should I have them???? These go over the limb tips? Yes, I’m “igronant”. Are these for high end bows???
in reply to: Happy Father's Day #43546Thank you! From the “Pa’s little pal” to the “payback” stage and beyond, it is amazing to watch the flight of our “arrows”. Live long and prosper Fathers and sons!
in reply to: P&Y changes mind #36264Great post Jason. I’ve thought of the movie “The Last Samurai” often in connection with this clan. “Those kids today”, many don’t get any “character activation” in their formative years. I know my family message like all in this country at one time or another, is, that, you sure as hell were going to do better than the struggling peasant stock we were off the boat. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I think many, many, of them launched a very ambitious future that has arrived beyond their wildest dreams. Those same genes just need a poke and a new dream. And, maybe a year of National Service to get their little hands dirty
