Thanks guys. I thought this was the case, but never saw it explicitly stated

This is a timely thread for me. I just got a used Kodiak magnum, 50# and I pull 28″. How many twists can you put in a string to get the brace height you all are describing? I strung it with a b50, 16 strand, 48″, and I get a brace of about 7-71/4″. Can you safely twist a string down 1-1 1/2″? Still new to bows. Thanks

Thanks Dave. Your second methd was what I had in mind. I’ll give it a try and post a pic of the result.

Not to hijack this thread, but Dave mentioned Helle knives. I am considering ordering a blade from them to make a knife out of some deer antlers. Has anyone ever done this, or know of a link that gives directions. I have an idea of how to make it in mind, but help is always apprecieted.

            Thanks

in reply to: Fletching jig #59197

Thanks for the help. The arrows I have been shooting have a L helical and the arrows fly very well from the bow. It seems better than the straight fletched. But I would like a jig that I could be flexible with…one that allows for straight, helical, slant, etc. Also one that could accomadate BOTH feathers and vanes.

Thanks for the help Patrick. Where is a good place to order supplies for arrow making? I don’t have an archery shop around the corner.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, I’m definately L eye dominant. every test I’ve done confirms that. But I have no trouble shooting a rifle R handed. I’ve been finding that while shooting my bow, I keep both eyes open and sort of stare at my target more with my L eye. I’ve been doing ok with this. Just starting out, so a lot more practice needs to be done. Thanks again

I’m a big blues fan. I lifted this name form a Lightning Hopkins song..”I’s goin down Lousana, and get me a MOJOHAND!

A mojohand is a little bag that holds roots, herbs, and charms. Kinda like a good luck charm.
