Hi Kristen, like you I am working my way up to at least 40# draw weight. I have a take down bow for which I purchased 35, 40 and 45# limbs. I am currently practicing with the 35# limbs after working on my form with a 30# bow I have. I bought, on line, resistance bands to exercise with; inserting the medium band inside the xtra heavy band to increase “draw weight.” I plan to keep moving up with the resistance bands until I can comfortably draw the heavier weight limbs. Good luck to you.

Joseph’s advice is sound. My groups improve dramatically (shooting instinctively) when I concentrate on doing everything right. As I am new to the sport as well I talk myself through every step of the shot cycle. That helps a lot.

Check out “Archery 101” on YouTube. He did a video on straight vs. helical.

Hi Robin, I’ve read that Dr. Ashby’s lethality studies are available on the forum. Where would I find them? Thanks.
