I have not the “gotta kill” syndrome in my blood, want to take game, yes, but not the “gotta”. So I can watch and learn and enjoy and relate myself with God when I’m mucking about and go home empty handed but with a full heart. I’ve learned after all these years that getting home safe and sound, a bonus with a smile on my face, is quite a tradition and that I’m doing my best to cling to.

My bucket list would be to go after a Mt.Lion with my bow on a diy hunt. I really don’t know if I would shoot one as I have no idea what I would do with it after killing it. I have seen numerous cats in the field while deer hunting and they amaze me while watching them.—jim

I have put all my guns up and have got me a new Recurve to only hunt small game. I don’t really care if I kill any animals anymore I just enjoy being in the field. Todays hunting shows on TV and the videos that are being sold all have given to the mentality of not caring about the ethics of hunting with a gun or bow. I will not hunt with anyone anymore as I just can’t take all the talk about how far they can shoot or how fast their bow shoots.—jim
