in reply to: Anyone else hate gun season? #42680
I am fine with gun season, although I sometimes get selfish thoughts that if there were none, then maybe I could use my bow during that season too.
Billin reply to: First Time Posting #42353Welcome,

Billin reply to: Traditional events #38536Dave, Robin and Dennis,
Thanks for the responses and info., one thing for sure, I never feel ignored on this site as I don’t always get around to responding or reading as quickly as I should either, so no problem folks.
Anyway, it sounds like more specific time and dates of events will be available soon, look forward to the choices. The ones mentioned will be looked at as well. Hope to see ya there!
Billin reply to: Traditional events #34221I did some research and it appears that last years Kalamzoo gathering was at the end of January and the Comptons and Cloverdale were held in June. I have not seen dates yet but at least we can plan ahead to some degree.
BillDon’t use the stuff either, no scientific proof that it works, may have a “placebo” effect upon the user…Did ya ever wonder that if it did mask some scents, it alone has an unnatural scent that the animals can pick up on? Best bet is to skip the Aqua-Velva, go clean and natural and note the wind.
Billin reply to: Glad to land here. #52075Fellow Trads,
I really don’t believe that many or any of those who oppose the wolves would change their mind if the wolves were native. I think one of the most important reasons to their opposition is the fear (actual or imagined) that the elk numbers will decrease so much that hunting will cease, regardless of native or non-native introduction.I really like to hear of the latent effects of wolf introduction such as the aspen study that you shared with us. I know there is so much more to this than just wolves eating elk, there are far reaching effects that may seem unimportant but can be of major consequence. Thanks for the direction of self study, I will Google the areas mentioned and sift through the piles.
in reply to: Glad to land here. #50241Thanks for the reply Jesse, I value your opinion and welcome others to provide input as well. Your example makes me think differently about this topic for I have much more to learn about where I stand on this issue. I would enjoy Dave2old to chime in if he was so kind to do so. I admire his wisdom and tact in presenting his point of view.
Thanks,
