in reply to: More wildlife pics #27859
Awesome pics Dave! Makes me think I should try just sitting on one of my wallows and wait and see what comes by for those cameras show us what we are missing by not sitting on the wallow. Have a safe one.
in reply to: Colorado BHA rendezvous #48569I look forward to attending one of these in the near future for it sounds like it was a successful event. It’s great to hear of new events being offered and them being so well received, congratulations to the organizers!
By the way, I’ve been working on a cabin near Cascade, Idaho and have been reminded daily of the other big event coming up shortly, Elk season! Lots of them critters running around, gets one just a little bit excited thinking about all that goes with that event.in reply to: Colorado BHA rendezvous #44126Ah yes, the beautiful collegiate peaks! I remember them well, wish I could be there in the “Banana Belt” of Colorado!
in reply to: New To The Site #37618Welcome Don,
You’ll find a very positive and supportive crowd here, even in disagreement it doesn’t seem to get “nasty” like other sites. Enjoy.

in reply to: New to the site #60715Welcome Joe,
You have found a very well mannered and educated site, refreshing these days! Hope all is well up there.in reply to: TBM's Ol Dave Petersen got his Coues #8470Dave, super job on taking the Coues. Many years of trying as nothing can take the place of persistence, congratulations!
in reply to: Top 5 Bows #58042Centaur has been my favorite longbow for years. Fox and Bear Paw have been two noteworthy recurves that I could easily own.
in reply to: ID Traditional Day — come if you can! #50017Dave,
I didn’t know you had a Shrew:wink: So, as Jim Carey said in Dumb and Dumber, “you’re saying there’s a chance” that I could shoot your bow?
Look forward to visiting with you all.
Billin reply to: ID Traditional Day — come if you can! #44567Great to hear of this event, I look forward to seeing many of you again and meeting others who I have only written to. I hope any “Shrew” owners will bring along their bows so that I may be able to try one since I won’t be making it out to any of the big shows back east:) Have a safe trip!
Billin reply to: GOT A GROUSE!!! #54381Congratulations! Good eater’s too.
in reply to: Elk season starts next week #47990Good luck to you too, Dave, those deer are very challenging! I’m sure you’re suffering from the same symptoms that all of us Elk hunters exhibit at this time of year; anxiousness, irritability, acute auditory, visual and olfactory hypersense! The only antidote is getting out there and exercising those senses to the max!
Nutmeg, you Texans have so many animals there it’s probably a good thing that Elk don’t live there too, your human population would explode. Good luck to all.
Billin reply to: Interview with Dave Peterson #44246Dave and fellow Traditionalists,
Just got done reading the interview and as always, felt that Dave hit it on the head as to how I feel about what we all do as traditional hunters. In my own little mind, this should be our “Mission Statement/Article” that one should read and understood before signing onto this site or any other site for that matter:) Thanks Dave, for putting into words what many of us cannot.
Billin reply to: Broadhead of choice let's hear it #36710Eclipse 2-blade has worked well for me, plus, it’s made locally here in Boise!
I too used to watch these shows and although there was something about them that bugged me, I would almost always watch again in hopes that the way I wanted it to run would come to be, but it never did. I would hope that there would be fewer or no plugs for products, more real-time footage of the hunt instead of many days, or worse yet, weeks of filming. I also hoped that there was not the constant pressure to use this or that product or “you won’t be a real hunter” bulls*%it. Ultimately, each show became one big INFOMERCIAL of yahoos who probably wouldn’t last a minute in the real outdoors. I was done, and soon all the guys at my firehouse decided against getting that channel too. Maybe when I win the Lottery:) I’ll front a show that only demonstrates how we traditionalists do it and not allow commercial interruptions.
