in reply to: Amazing: My son's new Java Man Archery Helms Deep #25219Helms Deep was the location of a MAJOR battle in LOTR, no Arwen wasn’t there, but there were Men, Elves, a Dwarf, Orks, Ents, and I am willing to bet the Aussie knows where they filmed it. 🙂
in reply to: Hope you ENJOY #23875Geeeeee all we have in our back yard is skunks. 🙁
in reply to: Bear Kodiak Magnum #22914I have a short draw, I’ll take it. lol 😀
in reply to: Arrow Weight & Paradox? #22912Wondering the same, thinking of making heavier arrows, but if I make them thicker I change the spine, different wood same problem…. Since I’m shooting a 24″ arrow, its god awful stiff anyway.
in reply to: Practice for Form #22905I have some fly tying thread you could use….
Two unfilled tags here too, but no rain. We keep getting what they call Wintery Mix. Which amounts to noisy snow. At least if I manage to hit something, I can track it, as long as it stays in the shade (snow is gone where the sun shines). Good thing about the noisy snow is that I can learn a lot about where they hang out, between the times I sit shivering on stand. Oh, and if I’m shivering, I’m not sweating, so I don’t smell. 😀
in reply to: Can I get a recommendation? #19545Ducks nuts???? Must be a typo

in reply to: First Successful HBO bow build! #12943Using ash right now, and it is working better than the red oak I was using. Hickory sounds interesting, there is a lot of hickory where I hunt.
I would really like to try Elm. I still remember trying to split elm for firewood as a teen. That was before hydraulics, and chain saws. We never did split most of it, and never did get a couple wedges out.
in reply to: GPS Suggestions #12935Don’t know where I was told to follow a river downstream, maybe it is some instinct.:D
in reply to: GPS Suggestions #12930Actually I took the hunter safety course in Upstate New York… in 1964 (same year the Beatles arrived). They said nothing about getting lost. I was too smart to get lost anyway (although I have a little brother I still worry about). The main issues were: 1. DO NOT SHOOT PEOPLE. 2. DO NOT SHOOT COWS. After they told us that we shot our .22s at targets, got the certificate, and went home. When I was married my wife threw away the certificate. A year ago I needed the certificate to get a hunting license, so I called the town hall, and someone I didn’t remember told me she missed me, and sent the certificate to me.
in reply to: Cat Quiver #12917If you are all trying to make me feel dumb, it worked. 🙁
