Humidity is so high here (rains every other day) that the moisture content in my staves/billets is to high to tiller.  Got a dehumidifier for the cellar, ran constant for over  a week.   Moisture was still too high, so I hooked the exhaust to the drying box.  Got the moisture so low it doesn’t register on the moisture gauge.

Think I have the cellar stable at 50%.  Waiting for staves to soak up enough moisture so I can tiller.

Far cry from the drought we had last year.

Wish the dam lawn (weeds actually) would stop growing.

UPDATE:  I lost the 10 lbs, and not looking for it.  Stick to high protein/high fiber diet, and only eat when you are hungry.

yup, siyahs weren’t easy.  Glued one on a tiny bit off, which caused limb twist, fixed it by shaving off one side, then cutting the other down to match.

IT  WORKS!!!

Shag bark hickory, stave cut out of a 8″ tree from Tim’s woodlot.  Pulls about 50# @ 23″, 53″ nock to nock.

Finally got a 50# at my draw length.

Actually have a couple of hickory bows that work. Lots of gory details…

I read somewhere in the Trad Boyers Bible (dammed if I know where – or even which vol.) that you should flex the bow a few times under extreme temps.

When you first go out the bow is at the house temp. Shouldn’t care what the air temp is. I would be more worried about once the bow gets heated up, or really cold. I’ll let you know what happens when the bow is really cold sometime in January.

Good news. Scot, who is in the Tuesday Bible study, works at a sawmill. Yes. He knew what I was talking about has a pignut log for me. He also has a elm log. Just waiting until he has enough time… Seems like everybody is really busy.

Great here. No snow, no cold, no bugs… Opps I had the first tic the other day. But really nice out in the woods. Too bad I have the garden to get ready, the lawn to mow, just changed oil in both cars, mine needs disc pads… When I get all of that done…
