Thanks for the idea Wose. After I read it, I wondered why I didn’t think of that myself. But I didn’t.
Called both Bear, and 3Rivers. Bear never got back to me, but Dave at 3 Rivers found a supermag (55 @ 28″) that tested at 47# @ 22″. That is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Never expected to find it tho. It is ordered, and Dave promised it will ship tomorrow.
By the way… The rule of thumb (2.5 lbs per inch) for calculating draw weights seems pretty sketchy to me right now.
in reply to: Shots From the Past #26899Thank You, Thank You Thank You. Better than what I’ve been finding at the book bear, and cheaper. 😀
in reply to: Too much, not enough, had enough #25754One of the things I really liked about living in the camper for 7 years was the fact that I didn’t have room for “stuff.” Every time I went to buy something I asked myself “Do I have room for it?” Obviously you can always find room for another fly rod, or more fly tying stuff, but things like furniture were out of the question.

Just when the kids get really useful, they grow up and leave. That’s gratitude for you 🙄
I’ve noticed that. Anybody got any solutions? I have another generation coming along…
in reply to: Signs of Spring #22421eids you are ahead of us. Yesterday went scouting, only went thru the crust twice, but both times I went up to my waist AND DIDN’T FEEL THE GROUND. There is no open water on our lakes. Went to Laconia to see my mom today. Audrey saw a robin on the way up, at a NH rest stop. None in Mass. What’s with all the open water on YOUR lake? Why is there more bare ground up there? THIS NOT FAIR!!!
R2 If it doesn’t go below Zero it isn’t winter, and if there is no winter there is no spring. Be grateful!!
in reply to: What ya got goin? #22408and you damn well better clean up the wood chips after you finish splitting that cord!
in reply to: Clay Video #19096WOW!!!! All I get to see of the bears is a black, harry, a***.
in reply to: Arrow Weight for Hunting #17941We could all use more ventilation when gluing the feathers on…
“Could also use a building a looooong way away from the house.” Audrey
in reply to: Tip on straightening wood shafts #17936We’re in luck!! 😀 As the snow melted, we found a beer bottle Winston left on the front porch last fall. Just finished 6 new arrows for Audrey, now we can straighten them.
30 years here R2.
in reply to: Signs of Spring #16875Was riding in the car the other day and Arwen said “Look Grampa!! DIRT!!” She saw a patch of lawn where the snow had melted. Haven’t seen bare ground since December. Think about that R2, no bare ground in 3 months. Could you survive that?
in reply to: Signs of Spring #16873Smithammer!!! You have no idea what you have started! Don’t you think they have enough dangerous ideas on their own? As soon as she saw it Audrey was jumping up and down screaming “I WANT TO DO IT!!!”
in reply to: Shaking the Rust Off #14635At the end of the deer season, I convinced my Dr. that I still had trouble with my neck, and right shoulder, thus getting some kind of shots in the shoulder, and physical therapy. Since the physical therapy people thought archery was really neat they developed special exercises for me. If I was really good about that sort of stuff I would have bulging shoulder muscles. As It is I am working hard at catching up. If it would just warm up, I think we could use the driveway to shoot, since the snow is still up over our sneakers. Is a dumpster a good backdrop?
in reply to: Tip on straightening wood shafts #14622He said an OLD beer bottle. Would a NEW beer bottle work. Calling Mushroom Bill to see if he has a OLD beer bottle.
