Almost too embarresed to admit that every time I string my Bear (Supermag 48, 55 @ 28/47@22) I have a devil of a time. The exterme recurve (Fred called a working recurve) makes it want to reverse on me. 😥 Dosn’t help that the stringer string streaches almost double 😡

Lots of zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers…

Corn and hay growing well at Farmer Jim’s. Went for a walk with Arwen last night, we stalked (and killed ) several hay bales, had a chat with a porkey pine (“He would be cute and cuddley, without the spines.” “He’s dirty and he smells.”) and Jim had to show us all of his berries. Haven’t been to any orchards yet, and not about to climb the oak trees.

One of the skunks (one of the kids, not Mamma) visited us at the campfire last night, just to say hello, then scoot under the barn. And a hummingbird, again just to say hello.

Using vacatin days to take friday’s off this summer, and after Social Security will allow me to continue working just 4 days a week. HooooooooooWeeeeeeeee Made it here while I can still do enough to enjoy (as opposed to being next door in the nursing home, or being wheeled out of there in one of the ambulances that goes away real slooooooow).:D

Since we have had a few hot nights, we have had the fan on. Unfortunately Momma Skunk likes to prowl near the bedroom window just about the time we bed down. When the smell comes in, we have to shut the fan down, close the window, and suffer. Lying there in bed thinking “Has she left yet?…Has she left yet?… Has she left yet?…”

I have apiece (2 yds) of waterproof camo fabric. I wrap it around myself when cold. Breaks the wind, holds heat in, and keeps me dry. I’ve been meaning to make it into a poncho, but sometimes think that would make it less flexible, like if I want to vent excess heat. The big drawback is that it is nylon, thus noisy.

Too frugal (not cheap, frugal) to buy a pop-up.
