The R2 method
in reply to: Tuning issues #31360Audrey still says I have perfect form. Without her knowledge (or asking her opinion) I got the book ARCHERY ANATOMY. Thus far I have adhered to the RR method. What got me was that a few years ago, after not shooting a bow for half a century (66 – 16) my first shot actually went where I looked. I had to run for the bathroom.
Was stumping today (only big stumps, because if you miss in the snow, you loose the arrow) and didn’t loose any arrows. ๐
I have 2 other books to read before I start the anatomy book, should be able to shoot in the back yard by then. I’ll let you know….
in reply to: What ya got goin? #31205WE GOT SNOW!!!
Six to twelve inches depending on drifting. Went out yesterday, and they did it to me again. Walked about 5 miles, up, down, fields, thickets, brier patches that would stop a skinny rabbit. No tracks, no droppings, not hide nor hair of a deer. Then about 200 yards from the car, as I was leaving, tired, hungry, and grumpy there it was. Three deer had come out of a pine thicket (you know the kind where the trees are all 6 to 12 feet high, and about a foot apart) to put their tracks on top of the tracks I made just a few hours ago!!!!
EVIL!!!!!
Went to a different (never been there) state forest today. Saw the strangest bunch of people. One ski guy asked me what I was hunting. When I said stumps, he asked “Did you get any?”
“Lots, and you know, you don’t have to drag them out of the woods, and butcher them.”
No, I didn’t get run over by a skier, snow mobile, a horse, or a HumVee nor did I shoot any. ๐
They are promising more snow this Mon/Tues may need snowshoes Wednesday.

Just keep in mind that if you do something stupid…. We have already done it, so don’t get bothered. We DO want to know all about it tho.:D
in reply to: This may be a dumb question but.. #61620Got 2.9 inches last Tuesday (wimpy), rained this morning (40 deg), and it is all gone.
Keep in mind that they were “plowing” with front end loaders this time last year, and it was below zero.
On the other hand, I went on a winter rove Wednesday in my new camo suit. Climbed a hill (no mountains here in Mass), and I was WARM: 20 deg winds gusting at 45 mph ๐ Had to take off the outer shell while climbing.
in reply to: This may be a dumb question but.. #52116Nope, this is year round. Twanged all summer.
