      snitkerb,

That’s a work of art! I like the application of the fox fur with the fringed side still there. Very cool.

Here’s a couple of my quivers that I made. A back quiver and one of the side/back quivers.

19 days and counting to the big 55.

I’ve been focused on losing some poundage around my waist!:D

With some weight training I could shoot my 55# Hoyt again. I can shoot a few fairly accurate shots now but to shoot it alot I’d be more comfortable toning up my strength.

Steve, I admire your spirit. Keep on keepin on my brother!

The only other quivers I have made are the side stalker type but mine can be worn in multiple positions including as a back quiver. It is reletively easy to build and I have a template that I have shared with others that just want to make their own. The tempate can me changed to suit your needs such as the length for those using longer arrows, etc. I’ll post some pics tonight.

It is in a separate thread. you may need to search farther down the archives or just search St. Charles Quiver.

I hope there wernt no pesky wabbit in that brush pile 😀

No Bugsy this time, just completely missed “Bucky” the deer target from about 35 yds!

                    Wild,

I have some german pine shafts from Kustom King and I am very satisfied with the quality in the 5/16″ shafts. I use the 45-50# spine but I see they have 30-35 and 35-40 in stock.

Other than that you could probably use some aluminum 1914 or 1916’s

I’ve had good luck with fletchtite premium on carbons and I’ve used the fletch tape too. I use Duco on woods that are pre-dipped from manufacterer or wipe on poly on my home made shafts. I have not used gasket laquer.

Had a fletch rip off of a carbon today when it went through a brush pile. It was taped on but had neglected to add a spot of glue at the leading edge.

That ought to soak in when it melts! Hope you enjoy it. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

In that case, some diamond back skins will look great on black glass. I followed the 3 rivers method and used Barge rubber cement to attach and satin poly urethane to finish. I removed the scales with a popsicle stick (this takes some time but you need to get every last one off) You may have to fix an occasional lift here and there or add a coat of finish occasionally. Here is my Predator, diamond backs on black glass. I got the cheaper black glass knowing it had to have skins!

3 Rivers has a good video tutorial on their website. Is this a new model Bear bow or a potentially collectible bow? If it is an old bow you might consider not permanently attaching the skins. There are some really good imitation skins on the market that will not damage your bow.

I switched from trad to the wheelie and back to trad. Prior to that I had not taken a deer with trad and had lost 2 deer with the wheelie. Then I killed my first deer with my Bear Alaskan 47# recurve with a complete pass through and that was all she wrote for the wheel bow. It is still collecting dust in the corner of the junk room awaiting the day when it too will become a collectible. 😀

Are you a righty or a lefty? We can keep an eye out for used bows for you.
