How about a couple of Kukris!!
in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #9024Well here’s Mike’s sheath…..
in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #8490Whew! I was really worried that Mikes knife might not fit the sheath but that looks like a good fit. Which is good since I made a left hand sheath not being sure if Mike was lefty or righty. Well I’m a lefty so now we need a knife to go in it 😀

in reply to: What bow to buy #63208I have the Kustom King Black Forest longbow, not sure if that one is a Bodnik product but it shoots very well for the money. I had to work on the grip though, it was too sharp on my palm. Has an odd palm swell at the rear of the grip which I took off, now it feels right. I’m sure that voided the warranty but for under 300.00 who cares? I palm the grip like a lot of Hill shooter do, hand shock is very minimal on the 45# @ 28″ bow. I would recommend it, some may like the grip as is.
in reply to: Green and white fiberglass bows? #63200Had a green one with a white rubber handle in 1968, it was a Shakespeare 28# at 28″ if I remember correctly.
in reply to: What bow to buy #62231GN Field bow would be a good choice. I looked at the Omega Bow site and that guy has a nice design. I’m OK with the hickory lams but some of the oak risers are too open grained to my liking. I like all his designs though. Wonder why he does not go with a walnut or black locust or an osage option on the risers and lams? Those are all American grown and should be available locally. I like that take down. I could see that one with a black locust riser and limbs with hickory cores and juniper under clear glass.
in reply to: Art Vincent Pocket Quiver #62193Now that is really the stuff with your handle on it too!
in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #62185Those shears are obviously from their kitchen line. I have some Case kitchen knives from the early 80’s so I’m betting due to the plastic sheath it is from that time. Notice the other functions. A bottle opener on the left side finger ring and the grippers just back of the blades for gripping stubborn jar or bottle tops or maybe even a nut cracker! Very cool.
in reply to: Bow Warfing Project #62143So you are re-habbing the limbs that came on it to get a better fit?
in reply to: 'Nother Thunderchild #62139Update! Well Big Jim called last week to firm up the draw weight and how I wanted it recorded on the riser. Decided I wanted it 47# @ 28″. He has it ready for the final tillering, sanding and finish work so it could be ready to ship soon. I’m getting kinda excited! 😀
in reply to: What's in his mouth?……. a banana!!!!!!!! #48846King! What a brute! Good to see you on here again. Keep the hog stories coming I know you have been giving them a hard time. 😀
in reply to: Side quivers with arrow grippers #47848Jim,
With your longbow have you considered a Hill style quiver.
Here is a recent one I made to go with my new to me Big Five

in reply to: Spring fever #47838Ice storm last Friday and Saturday. High 70’s today but I’m not complaining. Ready for some warmer weather. Daylight Savings Time has me shooting in the evenings after work now. Turkeys will be gobbling soon and the carp will be rolling. And for those who care the sucker run takes place in March I think. All this high water will likely get it started. I have not shot suckers because the creeks they come up are so rocky. Worried about ruining arrows.
