Yes, I read the TOTAL Regs {twice} every year now in any state I intend to hunt! especially in CA- AS compared to Utah. It changes a lot due to the politics of the state [any] Govt–

3 Rivers site shows – 120gr Left wing and 160 gr Right wing Grizzly’s available if any one is interested in the lighter heads $43–. I have not verified, as I prefer heavier 190’s up.

              Smithhammer –

and it is fun to experiment ! and it gives us a report on the capability of these BHs especially if you are successful in the field with them.

I like THs and BBears — grizzlys if they start making them again— always interested in other folks experience / experiments.

I still like Tuffheads best as with 3-1 and their ferrel is thicker to the point than any other – which should help with Punching bone! I like shooting tight to the shoulder so I have a tendency to prefer a head that will help me if I creep into it—just my preference-

I realize better Bhds are not cheap – but such is life imho –

              Looking forward to your report–

                Jp — yes – exactly

What you speak of is an art — takes time and effort.

It is always interesting to me that a lot of people want to make bows -fewer people want to deal with making arrows — and very few want to learn how to sharpen the Broadhead to RAZOR Edge— in the end the “sharp end of the Spear” is the “first among equals” everything in life is a balance – but a sharp broadhead helps tip the scale in your favor and honors the animals we hunt!

                Scout.

Yea – and I am still working towards building the perfect edge- after all these years—

Lansky is a good sharpener [used one for yrs -still have it].I would say the KME is a more precision tool. Holds the angle [cut]a little tighter. your Lansky will work on Single bevels. So will files & diamond stones and strops -which I also use.

Roger that — I use a slight cant rt of vert [I am rt handed]for distance /accuracy. I also practice an extreme cant almost horizontal to limit my silhouette, when raising myself to shoot over low brush [sage]. In all variations my rt{master} eye is over the shaft.

A number of companies make universal stringers. Selway makes a good “Longbow” one. I like the Super stringer By Thunderhorn,[longbow /Hybrid /recurve]It has worked well on everything I have tried. I tie a knot in it for shorter bows.
