in reply to: The most useful knot tutorial ever. #23606I understand –I have known my Knots from early life- and used them in my work—my father was an Eagle scout-
and it is a good skill for everyone to know, they come in handy when you would least expect it—you should teach your children-
it is a great App –I have put it in My Faves – even though I also have books on the subject–

in reply to: I just bought my first longbow. #23599I absolutely agree with Dave’s statement-
there are VERY FEW circumstances – you get to go where you want – without reflection, and it is good to learn that early. although it is funny{your video}–and I enjoyed it immensely – took me back a few years.

condolences on the hard year.
wonderful story of a great Hunt!
I like going after the odd ones also, in my limited experience they seem harder to hunt. Almost as if they realize their unique appeal.

Yes, from some mistakes in past experience*. To Echo Dave Ps excellent article. It seemed in range[then] but my practice was not as disciplined and varied as now. Plus I don’t try to stretch it anymore. I would not shoot at turkeys beyond 15 -due to the small tgt area. After all closing the distance is the reason to hunt with a tradbow-at least for me

in reply to: How far will you shoot? #19757Troy is spot on —
I practice to 35, would not shoot game past 20 — for the same reasons {especially -the all it takes is one quick step}.

I think you will have trouble finding someone who has hunted Camels {but you never know}Most parts of the world it would probably get you in trouble like “horse stealing/killing”. If you get a chance to hunt them, make a great batch of Articles for Tradbow. They’re pretty big, better get those efoc arrows worked up – haha.
I have eaten camel –it is OK –but like we say here in the SW you can eat just about anything with good Chile Sauce on it.
PS — Maybe Dr Ashby will chime in– he is one of the few who might have had a run at Feral Camels in his work “Down Under”
