Wahoo
What Richard said, all good advice. Watch your security near the border.
I have not hunted 34-35, but hunted extensively in 29 ,28,21,32 with success in all. I Have not hunted SE AZ in some years , but for awhile there the javelina did not seem as numerous as before. Always a fun hunt , great winter camping ! I always enjoy knocking around in the desert….
Last time I went Coues deer hunting in the southern portion of the peloncillos ( boot heel of NM) I saw more Border patrol agents than deer…

in reply to: Stump Shooting #156632I too love stumping , one of my favorite archery game/ practice endeavors..
I have made numerous 38 case wood blunts in the past but really like Steve’s chair leg rubber bottom version . I think I will proceed to order parts and make some . Thanks for the good, do it yourself idea.
Happy stumping all…

AZ winter beats a Montana one all hollow. – haha.
I think you mentioned you were near Globe. Doesn’t stay cold there long… here in high middle NM going to be 60 +- no wind and sunny. Doesn’t even feel like fall yet this year , much less winter?..

I have not played with this much as I am essentially a bowhunter. Most of my practice is to enhance same. I shoot instinctive, as I enjoy the simplicity and zen aspect of it.
Jason always writes an excellent and informative piece, and it was interesting to read about how he goes about it (string walking )…

in reply to: C&N Archery #156221Hi Dwayne
I am not familiar with this makers bows, so can’t give you any valuable info. If he lives near you, I would go visit. Find out if he goes to any of the shoots, where you could meet up and try a bow. You could ask if any of his clients live near you and would be willing to let you see or shoot their bow…
Or just go for it and get one off his std models and try it — if you have the time, spare money and inclination….

I haven’t owned a grizzly , but have owned a couple Kodiaks over the years. Excellent bow. On silencing recurves I also used to pad the bow limb against the string slap , by padding the string there and or bow tape on the limb…

You have a lot of classic bows there. I hope you are putting them to good use. Although I imagine you have a couple go to favorites…

Sorry to hear about the health issues holding you back this year. Hopefully next year. I am in a similar place, no bowhunting for deer this fall for me looks like . However my insurance is handling it well so far.
Great shot of the does sparring. We’ve got a lot of geese and cranes passing over my house now heading south. Always enjoy hearing / seeing them . They stop off for the night, in the fields on the Sandia (Pueblo) Rezervation along the river ( Rio Grande) a little downhill from me….. winters coming…
