What Paleo said x2:D
Jim how do you get “the jump on a wallabie”? 😆
Today while stumping I was looking for bear and the darn turkeys like to over run me—total 19 hens and 4 gobblers:D
14 more days.

Believe AusJim will be in the real world sometime 015 we should include him in this hunt or better called a rendezvous.
Not sure where you want to do this but to start the discussion on locations—my place is available–6 acres of pine forest many public forests to hunt in within short driving range. Or we can just sit around the campfire with Elkheart:twisted:
But then out west?
Again don’t limit to leathernecks or we won’t have anyone to pick on:D
SSgt Jim— your idea, will be glad to help but you figure out the details. The Col will just make it happen–if I’m still above dirt then:D

Wow great find–now I walk the path (like Dave) with my eyes focused down:roll:
Nice turkey find—while scouting for the buggers today–saw 11 hens and 3 gobblers one with at least a 7″ beard. Oh yes 18 Apr. is coming.

When you were a child I was hopping and popping out the door as a Lt.Col 42r. the oldest yet to graduate from Ft. Benning. 8)
yep stupid enough to go kayaking with you–I can see it all now—Hey Jim that’s a big one coming at us–“relax mate I’ll just drill him with my Ashby arrow and—-

My first response is great idea. However as you can understand I would never do a hunt for some days, with folks, that I hadn’t trained with or spent a few days in the back country with, before I committed to a group hunt.
Again, not to discourage–but don’t limit your idea to Marines our civilian friends possess so much knowledge–and of course those who served in the lessor service’s–should be included 😀
But most of us have plans for the big! hunts this season so you are talking about 015.
Great idea–see what you can develop.
Interested–77-88? mos? did we chew dirt together?

I have seen these Aussie’s in combat. They require no further scrutiny. Other then the obvious–don’t go kayaking with Jim.:D
He is welcome in my home anytime :D:D And some one you want backing you up in the crap holes we have experienced:shock:

in reply to: Hammer is Zappa! #13581Hammer –great article. We are fighting that same battle here in the best trout fishing waters in the east.
Dave–you are cleared to share my local exchange with our local and state officials with Bruce if you think it would help his cause.
Bruce-you have my e-mail–to resend- herdering@earthlink.net
I can add you to my list for the fight against the most horrendous attack on our environment you can imagine:twisted:
Mom–I think this is trad, protecting our land from further exploitation. But you can delete.
Oh I shot my bow today in sun and melting slush. Trust that puts us back on thread.
Mike
in reply to: Spring fever #12398Bruce– yeah. We got six inches of the wet stuff this morning. If you’re interested take a look at Linda’s pics on our biz facebook page
Just to keep on thread I shot the bow this afternoon.

:lol::lol::lol:
I just read your tutorial to the resident photographer who has been trying to beat those techniques in my head for over 25 years. Her comment—well Smithhammer knows what he’s talking about–particularly the last two statements8).
To sum up—take photo’s only at happy hour (I only drink good beer in jugs from local brew pub, brown and black). while enjoying the pint–supervise my assistant to ensure all your steps are followed:D. Thanks much my friend–those are instructions I can follow.
Great photo’s of the bowie’s.
And now we need to help Duncan find a mate for his empty sheath8).
Last lesson of the day–don’t pick on web-mother-or her cat– the photographer said that she must be a saint to put up with us–at which time I got a backhand–I think it was the we eat cat’s statement.

We eat cats here:D as to the rest of what you sent it’s meaningless to me perhaps Lin can figure it out.
A tutorial from Bruce would be nice he seems to speak grunt language and post’s great photo’s and video’s. But I will leave that to Lin to figure out.
Out here tonight 0700 run tomorrow which means 0530 wake up
but then I will have 3 girls in the bed tonight8).
You keep up the great work.

in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #7877Bill, Duncan–sorry the quality of the photo’s don’t reflect your work:?
After Lin posted the photo’s with some difficulty reducing something called bit size or something and then she saw the posts before mine and said–this is professionally embarrassing–and I said what dear? She said I am a professional photographer and these photo’s you took–suck–look at the others they have correct lighting, background and you idiot.:D
There was only one thing I could do–blame it on Web mother and her difficult to do site8)
well that didn’t work either–so my penance is having 3 of our dogs in bed tonight:shock:
Maybe spring will come soon so I can get out in the woods without running dogs:D
Mike
in reply to: clay hayes #7858Well we have certainly hi-jacked this thread:D
My response to your raised sword my friend is to offer–that within your heart or any on this site “evil” would be difficult to find–from my experience and definition of that word.
A person must know ones self—be comfortable with that knowing. If that knowing respects all life and this earth then there can be no evil in your heart.
The thoughts of others are meaningless if this is true. If they be contrary to our basic understanding that all life is precious and that our planet is indeed our space ship–then they by definition are evil, and require us to rise up against them.
Riposte and epee back at you. Sorry could be wrong terms since it’s been some 45 years since I have had a foil in my hands:twisted:

in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #7815I will apologize up front that I can’t post the pictures yet–but Linda promised to show me how tomorrow—But I have received a Sinawalli original and a sheath for it from Duncan. They are both trad works of art. Bill you and Duncan should go into business together:D
