OK this is what we found–first time page gives you the error message. Ignore it look to the left side of page and click the second option– course guide/syllabus. And your in.
Mike–well I should say Linda she figured it out just before I hurled this thing into the blizzard outside.:D
in reply to: Our Arizona Javi Hunt #15548Sounds like a successful hunt! Great stories and pictures:D
Dave P–your new signature line cracked me up–we listened to George yesterday and died laughing at some of his insights:D

Here is the link you asked about.

Although a good story–it can be disturbing. But she sure knows how to track–for about the best reason I can think of.

NPR today, had a discussion, with a gal–who really reads sign. Not posting the link as it can be disturbing to some.
But those of you who care can find it.

Thanks for the info on bird tracks. And for the rest, I have all those books Clay recommended–but I’m sure he will agree with me, that the best book is personal observation. In a past life that meant, survival.
In this life it means education. 2 12×6 boards cut to make an 8×4 sand box add 1 ton white sand–wow your own tracking box. Start with your tracks, your pets, pop sickle sticks to record time and date and watch the weathering conditions. Put a tarp over it or let that stuff just fall on it. How long does it take for a pine needle- to do– what it does?
Nature is it’s own teacher.

Doc
Been there–take it easy but not to much–keep moving-that is the best medicine.
Oh yeah don’t use roundup on your weeds–bad stuff. Pm me and will give you an Eco friendly alternative. Remember that orange stuff we used on the jungles over there:evil:

Linda just checked in a couple of hours ago and said she was sweating her — off helping the dog teams get out on the course in Warren PA.

First for Fallguy
Those AF boots (and yes I have worn them on Adak) are worthless–my opinion.
For coldpak
See this link http://www.mukluks.com/
Yep pricy but my pair are 10 yrs old and still keeping me warm. For wet conditions and overall you want the Camuks. I also have the Yukon model for very dry cold conditions.
As the site states–best hunting boot you will ever own.

As usual good stuff can you post the name of that bird tracking book.
The skills come in handy when you least expect–on Mon. afternoon Linda’s husky escaped the fence–won’t say it was fun tracking her through the snow (chasing rabbits and deer) but we did recover her–running down the road toward home. Believe there may have been a couple of coyotes in pursuit:shock: Anyway good topic.
Keep them coming.

in reply to: Arrow Weights #59589Letitgo (I can understand that name) another welcome aboard.
Concur with the guys above. I shoot a good bunch of 3D all for hunting practice–we never keep score–as you will find most of the targets with score rings are not anatomically accurate in where the rings are. Therefore use same arrow for 3D as hunting and shoot 3D where I know the real kill zone is. Just for your info I shoot an elkheart longbow 46lbs at 27″. Arrow is carbon ( trad only 500’s) 30″ with 4 A&A fletch total arrow weight is 770gr. with 500 of that up front= 32% EFOC. Enough I believe to pass through elk to whitetail. As Dr. Ed says there is no such thing in overkill when hunting.
Enjoy the campfire.

In addition to that welcome aboard I believe you are going to add more meaning to Traditional. Beautiful knife. And a quote for you and the Mrs.
“The arctic explorer asked the Inuit–How far to that range of mountains?” And the Inuit responded—“Bad dogs far off–good dogs close too”.

It is Monday morning 8:54 a.m. where I am – which is the Taiwan airport waiting for a plane to Cambodia. I am working with an organization rescuing girls from the wreched world of human trafficking. We work with girls to help them recover from their experiences and then train them in new jobs skills so they can make their way in a new life.

Now that is an honorable profession! I continue to be amazed at the quality of the members around this campfire.:D
