Well I hesitated to read the article, although downloaded I much prefer the print copy.

How ever, after reading it, I’m not sure what kind of response you are looking for. It appears to me as a straight forward trad hunt that most of us dream of. Am I missing something in my addled mind.

I was a competitive powerlifter from my early 30’s to late 40’s class 2 USPF. That 500 squat and 550 deadlift caused many problems later in life. Find a good physical therapist that knows “injuries of excellence”.

As my brother in law the retired doc says–never ever go under the knife unless it’s life threatening.

        Good luck with your decision.

Signs of spring in the Appalachians—near or below freezing night time temps for next 8 days and some snow predicted for tomorrow evening–well should make tracking turkey a little easier–and Linda asks “why didn’t we stay in Key West another month” Hon it’s turkey season!8)

Great article, sound advice. I’m 3 weeks into the walk up and down the ski mountain slopes pack weight at 20lbs. Turkey hunting on “John’s Farm” in the mornings with waist belt. I keep asking myself–wait a minute you retired from humping loads up and down:shock: but this time its different.:D

Keep up the great work at Trad Bow.

Bruce your comment is right on–never stop dreaming.

Good one Scott:D. I did not make opening day of turkey because I was in Annapolis at the power boat show:shock:.

I will be out there tomorrow–before the rains come.

OK OK—Linda said she would order me one, but she had a better name—Larry, Moe, and Curly.

WOJo and Brennan just heard that Potomac state forest 3 d course opens Sat. So you guys need to plan a trip down.

30+ turkey in field about 1/2 mile down the road this morning. Opening day is the 18th.

                      Those reviews are priceless:lol:

😀 Sorry I missed it.If I remember the fletch, Jason you got the coyote, and no doubt Brennen got the bedded elk. Is he still drilling every shot? Noticed you were not shooting the elkheart—I get first dibs if you wish to part–heck I only have two of Gregg’s works of art.

The back yard is ready when you two want to come down, Brennen as you know we have room here for the family–just need some notice so you don’t conflict with others–and the price is affordable:D

The bows are beautiful and like many of you wish I could afford one or just shoot one. But again

I have to give another attaboy to Mom. She took the time to give Codger our view of those bows–What a site! Thanks Robin:D

That statement “the fastest path from A to B isn’t always a straight line” in reference to snowshoes is brilliant. And if followed (which means a map recon) would save a lot of SAR missions as I’m sure Eids would agree to.

My first experience with snowshoe’s in the early 70’s in Norway were standard mil issue wood with rawhide—great stuff for the deep powder there but when we got higher and it got icy—the Norwegian army we were working with had these neat little chain additions that you looped on. But then years later in AK (when among other things we did SAR) mil issue snowshoes were aluminum and nylon and heavy and no chain attachments provided or workable alternatives essentially they were worthless.

In recent years I have used the modern ones–but they lack any aesthetic value—so next year I’m gonna get those rabbit hunters with the beer bottle caps:D If for no other reason then they are pleasing to the eye when one looks down while sucking wind.

On a personal note–in the early 80’s when I was doing a security recon of the AK pipeline in one village we stopped in an elder had snowshoes of wood, aluminum, and whale bone hanging outside his home–I asked which are best–he pointed at the dog team we were driving-then pointed out back at his snow machine and said–that good for short runs–your team good for living–snowshoes good for walk to dance.

But Joe–I wouldn’t recommend a dog team to anyone that doesn’t enjoy lots of work.

You add new meaning to “innovation”. I think I want to be lost on a deserted island with you on the team.:D

                                  Great video–again!
