in reply to: easterners make good on DIY CO elk hunt #51700
Congratulations!! I wish I could have said the same of my experience on this years DIY hunt in CO. We were in 44 in the Squaw Creek Area. To hot, to many people, no elk and Locals changing the camping restrictions. Very frustrating after 1.5 years planning. My friend hunted their a few times and with the rifle and never experienced what we did this year.
Congrats again!!
in reply to: Bow Building 101 – Osage Selfbow Part 1 #36486Really cool Clay. I always thought of trying to make a selfbow. I can’t wait to see more.
Thanks,
Carey
in reply to: Bowhunting Area 51 #30746David, will you be using the 300gr. Tuffhead? If so,what spine shaft are you shooting using your 53# bow? I would like to try woods too and was trying to ballpark the shaft spine for that weight head which I’m using. I’ll be shooting 57#@26″ out of my Great Northern Bushbow.
in reply to: Where Would You Live? #30477Til its all said and done, there’s no place like home. Sure there are many places I would like to visit and hunt, but I’m pretty sure I would still stay here in PA and chase the whitetails in my favorite spots.
in reply to: Show and Tell #30475Pretty cool work!!
in reply to: Breeding move over — the Incinerator is here! #27644Good for you David. I have recently taken similar steps in my life. Every day is a gift not a right. So much to enjoy with so little time.

Are you using hickory again David?
in reply to: Bowhunting Area 51 #56866Really looking forward to my elk hunt to see what the 300gr Tuffhead does to an elk.

So true Dr. Ashby. Prayers sent for you and your friend.
in reply to: I guess it is "Leap Year" #46938Good luck. Attitude determines altitude, so you should be fine.
in reply to: Mother Earth News #42534Stay true Dave. God knows there’s very few that do these days.

in reply to: A hunting widow's philosophy #36559I thank God every night for bringing my wife into my life. Many of my friends wives aren’t as understanding. She knows my bowhunting make me a better man in so many ways.
in reply to: Who Hunts Alone Most of the Time? #36151I for the most part, hunt by myself, although the wife is not fond of it. My family and friends generally know the areas I hunt in so that gives her some comfort should something happen. I like the solitude, but still miss the fellowship sitting around and going over the days events.
