I do use one. A couple of years ago I sent a text to my friend who was in a tree about two hundred yards from mine. I told him I was getting down and do a little drive towards him. When I finally made it there he told me all he could see were my yellow caps and yellow feathers moving as I made my way thru the woods.

I take a few moments to admire the animal and give thanks for the meat it will provide. At the end of that hunting day the heart is prepared, seasoned and cooked in a large cast iron fry pan either on an open fire or if the weather is bad then on top of the wood stove. Everyone from our group that hunted that day shares in the meal.

I do have a small room as my work area. Not even close to being organized. Though the main focus here is archery I also tie flies (saltwater), work on my coin collection as well as some PC stuff.

I do all my fletching on a small table in the living room while watching TV.

Some nice inexpensive knives suggested here. I would like to add by favorites. Number 1 for me is the Buck Lite folder. I’ve had it for years. Easy to put an edge on it and will dress out several animals before sharpening.

My second is the Kabar 1228 by Shrade. for the same reasons as above.

Hello everyone. New guy here with an opinion on the tapered shafts…Love em! I shoot nothing else now. With the weight forward and the right BH (or field point) recovery time is greatly reduced. My groups are tighter and I have been able to increase my distance to the target.
