Hot or cold.
BruceWelcome !!
I have hunted pheasants close to Plentywood which might be close to where you live. And yes it is a very unique part of the world. I loved it, my brother and I used to go.
It was about six or seven years ago. My Springer passed and have pretty much quit bird hunting. Gonna have to get another dog :)
Brucein reply to: Dying Feathers #63155How many feathers are actually used from the turkey wing?
Do they come from the tip of the wing or further back? Just Curious?
The dye job looks good !!!
Brucein reply to: atv riding #57483No you ‘re not alone turtle! I have one and have had it for about five years. We have an acreage, it gets used for hauling firewood, hauling leaves from our yard and so on.
It also gets used to haul the odd animal out of the bush!
The people I know that ride them “crazy and aggressive” are a little “different breed” !! Most of them don’t hunt and the few that do aren’t that good at it!
For me instead of recreational riding on an atv. Strapping on snowshoes, x-country skis, or just plain walking are a lot healthier and enjoyable. A lot cheaper too 😉
Brucein reply to: A&H ACS LONGBOWS #49881Two very nice deer ❗
in reply to: Too old to hunt? #45658Thanks Don I appreciate your professional input !
Actually the problem has subsided somewhat. I’ve made a point, now of always wearing mitts outside in our cold Manitoba winter. Lately I have shot very little. My Dad at my age had arthritis quite bad in both hands. Knuckles twice the size as normal, partly due, I think, to working outside lots and not looking after them.
I have dropped my bow weight from 58# to 48# and that has helped.
Thanks again !
Brucein reply to: New to the Trad Scene #40558welcome Andrew ❗
Congratulations Wayne 😉
Can’t really help with the arrow problem.
With the anchor point I would suggest using the corner of your mouth as an anchor point and either your mid finger or pointer finger connecting with this spot. Head position plays a role also. Try drawing the bow with your eyes closed and anchor. This will give a feel as to which way is more comfortable. The amount of cant on the bow will give proper alignment with the arrow and the target.
Now is the time to get a book or video on the subject of shooting the bow. It will be money well spent.
Hope that helps.
Some body will soon be along with input on the arrows!
