in reply to: A swing and a miss… #37850The higher you go the better. Deer where I live have gotten used to seeing hunters at the 12 – 14 ‘ height.
Going a little higher is the thing to do if you want to score. It also depends on the type of tree. Going that high in an oak with lots of branches below is not that bad. Wear a safety harness no matter what height ! I just started wearing one thanks to some good recommendations from some of the folks here.
I also think that being in a treestand where you can’t get up and move around is a good thing, for me anyway.

in reply to: Shooting Form Question #31549Bounty Hunter had a thread a couple of weeks ago “ A couple of cool pictures” I think? Anyway there are two pictures of Bounty Hunter And his daughter each releasing an arrow. Both releases are about as “letter perfect” as you can get ❗
The other thing is both bow arms have not moved. Maybe this helps create the perfect release. The pictures show them releasing the arrow, and the arrow, after it has cleared the bow.in reply to: Early season doe #29263Congratulations :!::!:
Looks nice and lush looking there.
Brucein reply to: "Blood trailing" light? #22817I agree with the Coleman lantern people. In fact, I would go so far as to say, that the small droplets of blood almost shine in its light! Two people with two lanterns works really well. Only drawback is that it is pretty easy to get dis-oriented at night
Brucein reply to: Wee little muleys #16928Great picture ! I sure like that guy in the middle !
Wondering how close you were to take the picture?
