looks like a great adventure!
I spend most of my time taking care of my two boys. Will is 4 and Aaron is 2. I work in the evening and watch the boys all day. I garden, bird watch, and fish every now and then. I enjoy a Guinness when I do have a beer. But the only thing close to my archery passion is my cooking passion. Which works well when I do kill. I don’t inhale because my line of work frowns on it. I have a great wife I met in high school and she is the world to me, but I am with Dave, I appreciate a nice looking women. I spent my days growing up hunting ruffed grouse with the dogs my dad trained. That’s was all I did until the archery bug got me. I really need to get back into it. Maybe this fall.
in reply to: Traditional only arrows #57082J and Troy,
Thanks a bunch for your advice!!! I have a test kit on the way…it has all the spines to try out. Thanks again!
in reply to: Traditional only arrows #56424Troy,
Thanks for the info…the new bow has been ordered since May and it is to be built in March…can hardly wait! I use CX 250 with 370 out front and my kodiak is at 46 #….the 300 TO arrows should work well with a little heavier bow (around 50 or so at 28 Inch). But time will tell. Thanks again.

in reply to: Nothing is wasted … #55270Jim,
Read The Tiger by John Vaillant. I just finished it…gives a good perspective of what a predator can do. I wish we had something of their equal here in PA. But I will have to settle on the rumored Mountain lion sightings and hope that one day I have a sighting of my own.
in reply to: A comment on crossbows #42657All nice points! But for me crossbows are not archery. If you want to use one that’s great but it should be used during a firearms season. I support its use for those that can not draw a bow. I love to use my rifle to hunt deer…but I don’t do it in archery season even though I could use an inline muzzleloader for a week in October. Just more of my thoughts!!! Time to cook dinner the boys are restless!
in reply to: A comment on crossbows #42195We also had it out here in PA….xbows are now legal. Problem is it is about money and nothing else. What a shame.
in reply to: Twisted limbs #39363Wing was Bob Lee’s first company if I am not mistaken. Run the limb under hot water for a little then twist the opposite way the limb is twisted. That is how I fixed a free bear bow I recieved. Worked well for me! Hope it does for you…good luck!
in reply to: My first glimpse of falconry #37760If I make it to retirement I am going to start falconry…great pics.
in reply to: Started Bare shaft Arrow Tuning #36206Maybe the arrow is slapping off the riser? Try some spray on powder on the shaft and see if it marks the riser. What spine are the arrows, length etc…sounds like a spine issue causing problem…maybe the arrows are to stiff, if so the heavier heads will help.
in reply to: ETAR shoot #33441I did some searching and it looks like they have not set the dates yet.
in reply to: Winter Range #33431Shag,
Glad you showed off the bow…it is really great looking!
in reply to: Glove vs. tab #29312I have used both…and for me a glove is what I like best. I feel less in control of the string with a tab. I also wear thin gloves when I shoot(under my shooting glove). I think it stems from my football days. I always had gloves on then and it was a mental thing for the game. I get the same feeling when I wear them hunting. I know it is a strange habit but for me it works.
