in reply to: Draw Weight? #27528
A 60# bow is ok if you can shoot it comfortably. It’s better to go a little lighter in draw weight than you think you can shoot. When your hunting and your cold and dressed in heaver clothing you will be glad for a bow of a lighter draw weight.Back before compounds most everyone shot bows around 45# for everything.

in reply to: I"v never used a longbow #27478Most longbows are not cut to center like a recurve so your arrows may shoot a little to one side depending if you are left or right handed until you get used to how it shoots.Longbows are more forgiving than recurves so you can get away with a little bit in your fourm and release.I’m hooked on longbows!
in reply to: fletching glue or tape? #27468I have used fletchtite for 25 years and have been using duco now for awile and love it.I have never had a feather come off so i don’t mind the time it takes to use glue.I turn on the radio in my shop and crack open a Sam Adams and have fun building arrows. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
in reply to: Share a Tip #26466When you walk in the woods take 3 or 4 short steps at a time then pause for a few seconds. This will make you sound like a squirrel and not like a human. You can slip through the woods and the wildlife will let you get right up on them.
