Well I am 58 and I still hunt with 63lb Super K, however I am really liking my 53lb Kodiak:D
in reply to: Bart Schyler #21084Strange I never even heard about Bart until I heard a song that Chad Slage song about him. I totaly agree he sounds like one of the last wild men!

in reply to: Mechanical Broadheads #55930Hey fairburnhunter, yes that combination will give you a 150 grains, but like the other guys have graiously stated, it is not what you want to do. There are way to many good cut on contact broadheads out there to even entertain the idea of a mechcanical head.
in reply to: Deer Hunters…Morning or Evening? #54688Hey Roger I am an evening guy all the way. I do like mid morning hunts, see a lot of bucks mid morning. But the early morning hunts for me are kind of a bust. Actually I only hunt the mornings when my son or grandkids come over and hunt with me:D
in reply to: Musings from opening weekend in Michigan. #54686Great stroy Bernie, of course I couldn’t relate to it at all as that stuff has never happened to me:roll:
in reply to: Opinions on T/D Longbows #48565We have a lot of great boywers here in Michigan that would love to help you out. Personally the Shrew Classic Hunter is the best bow I have ever owned or shot. I also highly recomend the Northern Mist Superior or Baraga. Some of the prettest longbows you buy are made by St Joe River bows. Good luck with your search.
in reply to: Early Season a Bust #48554Good luck Joe
in reply to: new to sight #48548Howdy Two Rivers
in reply to: i shot my first tradbow deer! #48023That is a bummer Sam and it happens to the best of us, Good luck with the rest of the season.
in reply to: one piece to take down #47260I talked to Gregg Coffee (Shrew bowyer) if he could convert my 1 piece Classic Hunter into a takedown version. He told me that he could not do it with the hinge system he uses because he does something special to the takedown handles to conpencate for the hinge. It was way to technical for me to understand:lol: but I got the drift anyway. There might be other hunge systems out there that would allow you to convert but I would check with a couple bowyer who actually build takedowns.
in reply to: Plaid Shirts #47250I like the Asbel pull overs for cool weather but when it gets cold these here are the best.
