While reasonable minds can differ, I just don’t think it’s safe to try to go that far with so little coffee.

Man I am glad you said something, I’d have tripled or quadrupled that amount! 😆

🙂 🙂 Well I really wanted to bring this:

Beautiful! I think it’s from legendary French filmmaker and environmentalist Yann Arthus Bertrand.

Well here is what pops up when I do a search for Oregon Traditional bowhunters:

                https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=oregon+traditional+bowhunters&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Lots of good links to good folks who could help! Raptor archery is a great store btw! He’s got everything you need! You can also buy a bow on ebay. Any Bear recurve, used or new, around 45-50lbs should be good and cheap. Good luck!

I almost got a greybark bow myself, for the same reason! Great choice!!

there’s one that was just listed for sale this morning on the Black Widow fan club FB page, just so you know.

No problem. Since you’re new to hunting, and I suppose traditional bowhunting, I strongly suggest that you spend $20 for the 3-pack of Zwickey Eskimos or No Mercy, or $30 for a 6-pack of the excellent ACE heads! (plus $10 for an Accusharp handheld sharpener ;)). You could make those the first three go-to hunting arrows, and keep the Muzzy arrows as the extra 1 or 2 arrows in your quiver. Good luck with everything! Don’t hesitate to ask for info around here! 😉

JPC, I believe the question was only and specifically about the Muzzy Phantoms, and not a call to “the war of the broad head”! Also everyone here knows about the futility of mechanical broad heads, so relax! 8)

(La question est simplement au sujet des muzzy phantoms, et non un appel au débat “quelle est la meilleure lame”!)

De plus, tout le monde ici connait la futilité des lames rétractables, donc relax!8)

A few years ago, I inherited a few 220gr phantoms 4-blades from a friend and had a full pass thru lung shot using one. the last time I used one, though, I missed and the broadhead exploded in pieces when it hit a soft pine tree. I stopped trusting them after that, and just went back to solid 2 blades, double and single bevel. I have no experience with the newer lighter ones, but personally I would not use them. I have a friend in Jersey who shoots 45# recurves and longbows. He loves them, so go figure!:D

PS: I would definitely take bleeders off.

                            Dave,

My arrows are Beman MFX classics 400, cut at 29 and 1/2, with 50gr brass inserts and 175gr field points. They are also footed with a 1″ piece of Easton 2018. They are the arrows I shot out of my Shrew, but I had to stiffen them for the Black widow by going down from 225 to 175gr up front. After trying 200, 175 and 145, they flew perfect with 175gr

I’ve enjoyed being in the woods yesterday stump shooting with my new bow. The bow and arrow setup is fine tuned! 57# bow shooting 575gr arrows. For the last two days, I’ve enjoyed extreme accuracy (for me!)! I never thought I would be more accurate than with my heavy handle recurve, but after hitting 1″ wood chips at 20 yards and stumps at long distances, I’m surrendering to the fact that I could shoot this bow all day long every day!!! 😀

Wait until you are nice and wet and getting cold

Put your dominant hand behind your back and under your belt

                                Now light a fire

Now open you first aid kit

Being able to light a fire gives you a warm glow doing it in adverse conditions could save your life.
