in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #37545
I never thought my little French penknife would generate such nice comments, especially among the high quality and home crafted blades here! I love the antler handles guys – gives such an individual and traditional look to each blade.
in reply to: The Trad Knife Thread #36326Coincidentally I just picked up an Opinel No.7 today for my whittling projects – not quite a trad blade but a lovely little folding knife all the same. I like the high carbon blade that sharpens nicely and is ideal for delicate carving. My hunting knife is just too cumbersome and utilitarian for wood working.
in reply to: New Robertson on the Way… #36311😯 no words necessary but it is stunning 😯
in reply to: Winter Range #33812Shag, I just hope nobody inadvertently steps out of those patio doors mid shot 😯 😉
I’m similar to you, it’s rarely too cold here but the rain never ends. I’ll post some pics soon…
in reply to: Couch Quiver #33803Nice to be able to provide a personal quiver to the kids, that’s true tradition!
in reply to: Smithhammer in print!!! #32708BTW I wasn’t deriding Bruce’s writing, I just wanted to let him know I spotted his review. My Irish humour is not only spelled differently it sometimes gets lost in translation 😉

Sorry bullseye, but here in Ireland a little jibe is in fact a warm welcome, i.e. you’re part of the gang 😀

I agree Zano and congratulations on your 38 years together 😀
in reply to: witch is beter #31617I prefer wizards… 😛
in reply to: Glove vs. tab #30563Learned with a tab three-under. Then started shooting split finger and found the tab would sometimes pinch the nock (I’ve a 31″ draw). I’ve recently tried a glove and liked two things in particular – the nock pinch doesn’t happen and the anchor is fantastic with the middle finger really hooking into the corner of my mouth. But I do think a tab gives a slightly cleaner release and I’m still working on my glove release to get all three fingers cleanly away.
in reply to: DVD ideas??? #30538Thanks guys. I’ve picked up Lettin’ Loose and 700 Miles based on your recommendations. Looking forward to watching those. I also got Mike Mitten’s book One with the Wilderness and a couple of other “lesser” dvd titles. These were bought with a 3Rivers voucher so I’ll look into the PBS documentary separately.
