in reply to: It's "stumpin" hot out there! #57918
Saw the ads for Brave and was thinking I must offer to bring my nephew to it – good excuse! Sounds like some dodgy Disney Scottish accents but I’ve heard it’s good enough to forgive that 😉
in reply to: It's "stumpin" hot out there! #56864Still getting baked R2? Bloody cold and raining over here, not unusual but it’s exceptionally bad this summer 🙁 How’s the Colorado fire situation, kinda dropped off the news feeds over here.
in reply to: Can't help myself (I'm building again) #56845Nice work as always Troy. Keep the photos coming…
in reply to: Blind Olympian sets new archery record #55893Gloves are allowed but tabs are preferred for release accuracy as skif said, more consistent surface. My understanding is that as long as it doesn’t assist the draw or release, such as a release aid, it’s allowed.
Well done Andrew and best of luck on the career front if that’s the way you’re heading. Please do a better job than the so called economists we have over here that presided over the bankrupting of our little country 🙁 But I reckon a young man with trad values won’t go far wrong 😉
in reply to: Amazing what can come about #53621Was that a WEB cam R2? 😆 Couldn’t resist that one 🙄
in reply to: Sight picture #53617Typically my “eureka moment” came about partly by accident – I noticed that when I was practicing kneeling shots and had to cant more significantly to clear the ground my horizontal accuracy greatly improved. Practicing from a variety of hunting positions does more than just cover potential situations but improves overall shooting IMHO.
in reply to: Blind Olympian sets new archery record #52531Wow! Now that’s inspirational. I like the way he describes the feel of the shot proving that form trumps everything 8)
in reply to: Sight picture #52516Makes sense scout. I’m finding a that a little more canting lends itself well to split vision shooting giving a nice “sight line” down the shaft. Thanks for the comments guys.
in reply to: How About the Samick Sage? #52494I have a Sage and would definitely recommend one. Really nice bow for the price and ideal for what you’ve described. Get one, you won’t regret it 😀
in reply to: Amazing what can come about #50188Tell ’em to hang on while you run home for your bow 😆
in reply to: Art with a Capital A #50174Weird coincidence David, I just read yesterday in Fred’s biography about displaying the Bear Kodiak at the MMA in NY. Cool 8)
in reply to: Traditional Bowhunting Magazine #49251Amen to that! While I’m only a new subscriber I can testify that it’s great having the back issues to fill the wait between new issues 8) It’s like having a trad bow encyclopedia/compendium on my laptop – priceless!
in reply to: Sight picture #49243And I thought it was just my big nose getting in the way 😆 I’ve also found that it is only possible to use the arrow for horizontal line up when using the corner of mouth anchor. I’ve been training myself for instinctive but find I’m getting better results with a split-vision style – I think some call it the Hill style?
in reply to: So I got a ghillie #48168Would the use of spray paint on clothes not introduce very alien solvent odours to a hunting area? Even once dry I find solvent based paints really stink and I have a rubbish human nose! Do you use water based products?
