What bow MODEL did you order Nate?

He finally did the fades, I pulled him to the dark side of arrow building! Stalker is great stain to use for creating differant types of fades! Makes me want to get more shafts! Like I needmore arrows! LOL

I agree with the above posts on the switch, recurve to the Hill maybe not be a big switch, but from a compound it will be a BIG change! I would recomend that you try to shoot some differant type of longbows and poundages before you buy! As to poundages I have 2 50lb@28 D-styles and my Bama Royal Relflex/Deflex is a 46@28 found that my 46lb R/D is a lot more forgiving), I shoot POC woods out of all three 65/70 with 145pts and broadheads, arrows hit extremely hard and fly great, I also chop all my feathers, 5 inch banana cuts or 5 inch Traditional shape! good luck on your Traditional journey soon your wheel bow will just be a memory! LOL

I started with recurves, switched to D-Style longbows 2 years ago, in fact in my Trad group of guys there is one other fellow that shoots longbows the rest are recurve shooters and they all shoot 3 piece takedowns (Widows & Predators) we shoot a lot of 3d shoots in our area and here is what I have found! I can shoot their recurves and hit the targets real well, but they cannot hit anything with my longbows, in fact they usually say “how the hell can you hit anything with these damn long bows” I now am shooting a Bama 62in R/D longbow which I absolutly love, very lite in the hand, but shoots a lot like a one piece recurve, best of both worlds I think! Still love my 66in D styles though!

I have hunted alot this season since the Oct 1st bow opener,I seen a lot of deer but most of the them the later part of October, passed on some does and a small spike!I did get a shot at a nice 4or 5pt last week, jumped one nice buck in early AM on Wed, but the deer around here have went nocturnal, weather has been warm 40s, 50s! Have used my longbows the whole time, buck I missed would have been an easy kill with a firearm, hope to hunt the late season, weather permitting last year Dec Weather in No Mi was brutal, very cold, windy and a lot of snow! Not many acorns this year so the deer will be looking for food sources!

That type of story is why I gave up hunting all together a few years back! I now ONLY hunt the Traditional way as well as my son LimbLover! Sad to say but I know a lot of so called hunters that would have done the same thing! If killing a deer was my only objective I could have did that several times already, hopefully these 2 have learned a lesson! Keep at them there is always hope!

I had a Shakespeare Necedeh 45lb recurve given to me, it had a bad limb twist in it, took a while to straighten it but it is a real nice shooter most of the Shakespeares are!

Up here we have an abundance of Black Squirrels, I watch them evertime i sit in my blind, they are as big as house cats! One thing about squirrels I have learned, easy to find, VERY hard to hit and even harder to kill when you do hit one! My son Limblover arrowed one last year, adder point i believe and it ran of with the damn arrow hanging from it, we never found the squirrel but I found the arrow stuck in the ground under a tree about a week later! I have hit them with a Judo point dead on, they just scurry off in the woods a then cackle like crazy! Most amazing animal in the woods in my opine, I seen this Big gray chase a black squirrel up and thru the trees the Gray lost his branch free fell about 10ft and grabbed another branch rightted himself and kept up with the chase with out missing a beat! They should all star in the next Matrix movie they have all the moves! I will admit I am reluctant to shoot at one most of the time when deer hunting, but if it is at the end of a morning hunt it is arrows away! LOL
