It’s mind boggling.
in reply to: New Ashby Study update posted. #17691It certainly puts into perspective how much potential a given setup has with just a bit of tinkering.
Well presented as usual Dr. Ashby.

in reply to: December 24th, 1958 #14681My parents weren’t born until 1960. That really puts into perspective how much experience could be lurking in the stories and memories shared on this board. And how much I could learn by listening instead of talking.

in reply to: Bowfishing for Gar #12622They have a “tenderloin” running down both sides of their spine. It’s above the ribs. The only time I’ve eaten gar I watched a guy lay it on it’s belly and then split down it’s backbone with a HATCHET! He then cubed the “backstrap” into half-dollar sized chunks and breaded and deep fried. Some of the best fish I’ve ever had.

in reply to: carbon arrows #8634I’ll second the .500 spine. I just made up some Goldtip 3555’s with 100gr brass inserts and 200gr points. Total arrow weight is 578gr. Shooting them out of a 45lb recurve.
You can play with tip weight and/or length to adjust spine.

in reply to: Anyone own a Shakespeare? #51202About a year ago I was given a 45# super necedah. That’s actually what got me interested in traditional archery! It’s zebrawood with black glass and it’s really smoothe!!
