in reply to: mushrooms and elk..i think.. #8115
I think they eat the mushrooms that make them small so we can’t see them when hunting
in reply to: Bison and bunnies #21400It would be interesting to see how folks reacted if all states shut down grazing rights on public land for one month each year and opened that time for hunting beef. Government would benefit from tag sales and families could be fed with freshly harvested beef. Cattle industry would be required to move their animals to private land or lose them to a legal hunt overseen by the professional game management organizations our taxes and hunt fees pay for. HMMM-maybe beef would begin to taste good again!!!

Howdy John–I sent you a couple emails – one with a page fromThree Rivers about glue on adaptors for wood arrows so you can use any screw in heads you want. I’ve been using them about 3 years on my arrows and my wife’s. Lots of roving and stump shots with no problems.
in reply to: Short recurves…suggestions? #34710Check into the KAYA KHAN recurves. Small, light, shoot sweet. They are a bit different from other recurves on the market but the prices aren’t too bad.

in reply to: Arrow makers #63852Building your own? Check out SUREWOODSHAFTS from Jefferson, Oregon. That’s the only product my arrow building dude will use and I’m totally satisfied with them. But then, I’m just the weird lit’l Irish guy.
Don’t want to weigh myself down with water containers so I always carry a few raw potatoes for liquid and also jerky and home made pemmican.
in reply to: Bow Quivers #34788Totally agree about thunderhorn. Their Boa quiver is A-1 and the personal attention I was given for my out of the ordinary request reminds me of the way folks treated customers 40-50 years ago.
