Nice looking bow.

in reply to: Digital Issue #22120Thanks Dave,
I know someone will be around to answer sooner or later. Looks like you can print the magazine to a pdf file then bring it into a reader. I was just looking for a quicker way.
Thanks again
Davein reply to: Flint Quest #44160The shows have been on for awhile. The regular show is a little different than other hunting shows.

Or not. Just remember that all of it is supposed to be fun. And it ain’t a marriage vow. And it doesn’t make you a better man than your neighbor who hasn’t come as far on his journey as you have…
Well said.

in reply to: difference in shooting a take down vs, one piece #52830The difference I see is with a 3 piece td you can get new limbs at different weight or same weight in the event something happens to one of the limbs.

in reply to: I"v never used a longbow #37830I have only shot recurves until this year. I made it a point to try out some longbows at Cloverdale. I bought one about 2 months ago and just picked up my second. So far I really like them.

in reply to: Lamination Separation #43385From what I have read it could be there for looks or it could be for strength. Can you tell if you have one solid piece from tip to tip or is there a joint under that lamination. If there was a small gap at the joint where laminations but up to each other you have a possible week spot.
Post this in the bowyers bench and one of them should help.

in reply to: Selecting a bow? #43358So then are you just testing the feel of the bow,the grip and how smooth the draw is when you are test shooting a bows and not so much the arrow flight or grouping.

in reply to: Selecting a bow? #43128The arrows are not tuned to each bow. The bows I mentioned that I have shot were at several different shoots like Cloverdale, Kentucky Klassic and a few others. They are all new bows that the different bowyers brought.

in reply to: Where do you get your tradional supplies from #34760I don’t like or use 3-rivers, Had bad experiences with them. They may be great for others and I am glad for them but not with me.
I am trying Bowhunters International for some stuff and Big Jim’s for arrows.

in reply to: 2 Blade double bevel and 3 blade vs single bevel #26985sharpster wrote: Hi again Ron,
This should help. Check out the Ashby library here on TB, the study entitled “Why single bevel broadheads”. Ed constructed a shaft with a roller bearing mounted in the nock so that no twist of any kind could be imparted by hand and pushed a large double bevel BHD through a potato and then did the same with a smaller single bevel head. The large double bevel pushed completely though the potato in a straight line and exited the opposite end leaving a straight through and through “wound channel”. The smaller single bevel split the potato cleanly in half before the point even emerged from the opposite end. There are pictures showing the rotation and Ed gives a far better explaination than I could hope to. Here’s the link:

So would that help with the 2 blade hole closing and not leaving a blood trail or a very good trail?

I have watched them as often as I could since I started hunting until a few years back. It did not matter what was hunted and what was used. Then a few years ago I lost interest. I didn’t hunt much for the next couple of years. I have started hunting more than ever again and even watch a few shows if I happen to see one on.

I have my wife working on a hat that fits my head and covers my ears but not my eyes. She is always making socks. and I think I am going to drop hints about a vest. She has made me a shirt and fleece pants. I have work with her on a recurve case and a bag to cove my arrow fletching’s.

in reply to: Builders of custom broadheads #35582You could just use a sharpie to mark the blade or ferrule. Might try a dremmel just make a small mark.
