in reply to: your opinion on proper form #62628A day at a time is what makes it for me and lots of help from lots of great folks. I’ve always found althought that when the crunch time came, everything comes together but shooting everyday and doing my exercises given to me by Mr. Kidwell help me avoid the serious mishaps.
And I have fun shooting 🙂 As long as my wife is not shooting with me , just kidding of course, she shoots better than me you see, hate to admit it 😉

in reply to: Bear after he is down #61528Duncan, I used the following ingredients/chemicals, coarse salt, oxalic acid, sodium bicarbonate, aluminum sulfate and baleine oil, never really used borax but heard it works quite well.
A very important point to consider is, once bacteria sets in, which does not take very long, it still continues its devastation even in the freezer which is why the quicker its salted or in the freezer or at the taxidermist or the tanning outfit, the best results your going to get in my honest opinion of course 😉

in reply to: String Tuning #61503Hold on a minute there gentlemen, I was always made to believe the tab was the way to go in terms of correcting many release problems and the glove was to avoid because they tended to create more, am I off the beaten track here????
Have I fallen off the deep end? Did someone spike my corn flakes? Was I born too late during the day? LOL LOL
Sorry Steve, had to ask 😯

in reply to: ABS Maasai single bevel broadhead give away Winner #61428I’m delighted to say that another person wanted to add a few more smiles to this draw and is adding 2 full length Alaska Bowhunting Supply Sitka Grizzlystik arrows. So that means that the winner will be sent these two shafts to shoot the Maasai heads.
A big thank you to the donator of the arrows 😀

in reply to: Bear after he is down #60987If your going to use salt, make sure its not table salt because it causes the skin layers to bond together and is very difficult to tan. I always recommend people to use coarse salt when they brought their hides over for tanning. If you need to freeze your hide, I always used either a cardboard box or burlap bags, never plastic bags.

in reply to: Hunting camp set-ups #59556Patrick, the teepee is comfortable, spacious and warm. Once a inside liner is placed on the inside of the teepee, you rarely have smoke as the air coming from the outside goes under the main teepee cover and then hits the inside liner which is installed tight against the ground creating a upward path and updraft causing the smoke to rise through the openings.
Plus I really like staring at the stars.
Greatrearcher, what I like about the wall tent ( which is better known as a canvas tent is the ease of setting up, its interior space. The fact that you can add a wood stove is a really big plus too. There are many companies in Canada that make really good canvas tents.
