You guys are awesome! The product is not permament, and will succomb in the shower or pool. We tried to get it into the military, but, odorless and practical werent on their requirements list. Carbomask will not run or change the color of your sweat. (you sweat right through it).

This was a result of trying to literally engineer mud, and finding that coloration was possible kinda got me to thinking… 🙂 the neat part is how it stays on and comes off and is odorless and cleans your pores, I had to go to market.

Anyway, the news is about the new green and brown. I revamped the black for this fall, now the green and brown! coverage is smoother, richer and faster. still dries flat lickety split. let me know about your archery club and I can sponser your annual banquet! Just look me up!

Great Posts! stalking whitetails, its not just for mulie hunters!! ha ha. I shot my last buck at inside of 8′ on the ground, came in on my drag rag with his eyes rolled back in his head sniffing the estrus trial i laid. if I dint shoot he’da stepped on me, I just know it. Super bright rising sun was at my back, and he came right up to me like a pet dog. I was drawn on him from 20 yrds, when he turned the corner, but he just kept on coming right to my rag, still tied to my fanny pack. coulda been gored to death. ((it was him or me, as they say..))

one thing is for sure, we facepainters LOOOVe painting our face, but… the choices in costume makeup drives everyone to fabric… and that doesnt have to be. I dont mind if you peeked. You might like it simply on your hands instead of gloves, its an unbelievable experience. We Nailed It!! (Hi-Five-Me!)

in reply to: bow quiver #19690

WHEN I EVER BUY A NEW QUIVER IT WILL BE THIS ONE .. I THINK.

                  http://www.sportsandrectec.com/archerytech/sidewinder.asp

Please comment about it. use your own quiver, clip on to your belt, adjust angle, no bouncing, no strap to leg.. I can tell this is definetly what I want.

But for now, i have a JerriedUP old back quiver, like a cat quiver thing.. works fine. bottom loading.. also allows me to put the bow up on it, and ride my mt bike to the hunt spot, dump the bike and im hunting.

I have a strong feeling lots of data can be gathered by practicing with a lighted nok. plucking or bow torque are my two nemices. I find that switching bows helps me get real. I love the longbows, these wild stallions..if I am off, I pickup the recurve. The recurve is so stable due to the mass of the riser, but just a few shots off the 45#recurve, and I can get back in serious nail drivin at 14 paces with either of my two longbows (64″ 50# tredbarta, and 58″46# RERVortex). at the moment, I cant stop shooting each bow, im suffering a neurosis, obsessive/compulsive passive/aggressive addiction. my goal is to harvest one deer with each bow this year. that will be hard the DNR shot all the herd in my county. all my woods are ghost towns. anyway, sorry for the meandering. bobray

Steve. awesome post. while i do not know the %foc of my arras, I am shooting a heavy tip (175), one thing I hate is buzzing, makes me check if the glue is good, the answer is the same each time i check. I am at this moment inclined to go down to my (indoor range) ha ha the basment, and trim some plastic vanes and see what happens. I have been tinkering around with some old acc’s I used to use with the compound at 55# with a 125 tip (they have plastic vanes). I have been trying to see if the arra’ll fly with a 175tip, all I can say is that..well, it does kick out, but it sure is quiet. Ill just take like some scissors and giver a low cut. Ill tell you what happens. BobRay

in reply to: Slower is Faster #18157

Steve, On the money. slow is the way to go. Im not the mystical type, but as close as euphamistic words can describe its like a zen state, or in sports terms, “in the zone”, its a great achievement when we can dial in..and one trick I tell my self to do it is this: “no matter where you are, your hunting where you are..meaning right here”, IT wont matter much if you keep thinking your hunting “over there” when you get there. my of transformation into stealth mode occurs while the facepaint goes on, what a blast! I cant type what I feel, and what I know you feel!

one more thing, the dark side.. it takes alot of energy to do it..mustering all your confidence, patience, tuning your senses, ready to strike… But guess what, lots of hours in my woods last year, and …no deer. Finding out DNR shoot the deer in yards over bait at night with HPR’s in Jan/Feb in the name of CWD managment…now were talking a conundrum, still hunting where theres no deer.

in reply to: Rain Gear #17686

Ive used like a flannel lined pvc hooded coat bfore, up northern wi. last year, it rained all day for 3 days. it was ok when it was not cold. When it gets cold it gets hard. I have pvc poncho now, still in package, seems soft, but I need to unpack its tight littl fold job to try it during drawing the bow…but then it will be bigger when packed… cost is low enough.$2bucks I’m encouraged by the poncho posts though, optimistic it may just work. Will report on what I find out. with images. BobRay

I’d say..master your weopon. get a good tackle box. load up on the basics: tips, adhesives, tape measure, extra strings, wrenches, square, knocks/pliers, tapemeasure, stringer, blades, sharpeners.rests, practice…master the quiver and reloading. join a local club, shoot 3d on a course, learn up on spine (some guys are super techy on spine and foc..), train, streach, calistenics, targets, prioritize hygiene, save a pair of shoes only for hunting, get a squeaker call for varmits, a grunt call maybe..overall, its not a casual hobby in my opinion, its a journey! and dont forget the facepaint, but dont use costume makup.(ha ha). if you want to go clandestine/special ops..facepaint is the quintessential ceremonial transition in my opinion. Once the paint is on..its game on. I believe a fanny pack with bushclippers, camo, glove, netting, knife, dragrag line in a baggie, doe-P, permit, calls, light, misc. cord, clean baggies, hankey, and optics are minimum requirements off the cuff. Oh yea, go watch deer whenever possible.

Thanks Patrick! Its turning out to be a nice back yard indeed., Hiram, Hard to top a good bird of prey sighting like the squirell one, I recal seeing a red tail with a snake one time long ago, and I did see a GH owl fall out of a tree on a mouse while bowhunting, the owl looked like it was stuffed, and sliding on a wire down to the ground, and I heard the mouse squeak his last!what fun we have eh.

This bird wrastled with a bass, while making circles over the water. my backyard is just… a subdivision…?? with a common pond. I have endeavored to capture every bird species possible on film back there, and to my delight, succeeded in positive capture of this one!! others..include green heron, blue heron, GH owl, fliker, two types of white herons or egrets, double crested cormorant, cedarwaxwing, rettail, tVulture, bluejay, cranes, and canada goose. whoever woulda thought!!
