in reply to: Footed shafts #30204
Isn’t it always fun to shoot new arrows for the first time? It’s like they share your excitment!!!
I am waiting for some 145’s to try out. I think that is what my new set up needs.
in reply to: Footed shafts #23307I finished a few of the above mentioned shafts yesterday and even had a little time to shoot a couple. They flew great! I was (maybe still am a little) concerned with a barrel taper but man they flew nice with 125, 145 and 160 grain heads.
Even after letting the 12 shafts acclimate for a few days to East coast humidity, I only had to slightly straighten 2 of them.
I would recommend Great Basin Footed Shafts to anyone looking.
in reply to: weight tubes #22532In my experiences, weight tubes will not effect your dynamic spine. However, the 8gpi tubes (again in my experience only) can cause inconsistent arrow flight. I have never had any flight issues with the lower gpi tubes.
You could try a heavier insert up front to weaken your 2117’s dynamic spine or shooting a longer shaft will also weaken the dynamic spine.
There are so many choices in aluminium, I am sure you can find one that fits your needs. If not, carbon seems to be more versitile.
Good luck!
in reply to: Footed shafts #7899They above posted hyper link does not work. Highlight the entire address, copy it then paste it on your address bar and you will get there.
Sorry about that.
in reply to: Footed shafts #7896I just ordered a dozen POC’s footed with Cocobola from Great Basin Footed Shafts. They should be here in the next day or two. I have never bought from him before but he has a good reputation on other sites. If the spines and weights are as he says (I trust they will be) all 12 shafts will be within 1# of spine and weight was within 13 grs. He has some others listed that are pretty tight grouped also.
Here is a link to how I got in touch with him.

in reply to: Cold Hands #55360A trick I learned is to buy wrist bands (like pro sport players wear) and put “hot hand” packs under them. You will be surprised how much warmer your hands will be by keeping the blood flowing to them warm. Apparently your body loses a lot of heat at the wrists due to a high concentration of veins near the surface of your skin.
