Love to hear people points of view on this one.

John. Contest “hunts” were popular here in PA a while back but haven’t heard much a out them recently. Seems like they’ve died off on their own. Killing for money is just the wrong way to go about it in my view. Dwc

Ironically, I just submitted a Campfire Philosopher piece that tackles this very subject. Suffice it so say I’m not much of a fan. I love competition and I love hunting, just not at the same time.

It’s funny how things change. I don’t like this idea. I think this sits on that fine line between hunting for a living and hunting for money. But is thier much difference between this and a fishing derby.Trapping was a big part both or countrys was it not hunting for a living. I just enjoy the discusions on how we evolve as hunters and how we redraw these fine lines over the years.

Personally I don’t mind it. “Derby’s have been around for a long time. Big buck contest same thing to me. Entering into P&y same thing in my book even though I don’t partake in any of them. What bothers me the most are the threats made on peoples lives. I put human life above any animal life especially a coyote. That was the way it was meant to be.
