In the spring of 2014 “Untamed” debuted at the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Rendezvous in Denver. Since then, it’s toured around the US and Canada with the Hunting Film Tour. It’s also touring with the Outdoor Film Tour & Festival and received the Pope and Young award for best bowhunting film. It has also been translated into French for showing at Arc Aventure, a French bowhunting film festival. Untamed is a film that reaches across historic divides by focusing on the innate biophilia that all humans experience, hunters and non-hunters alike. Today, I’m finally able to release it online.
Untamed is all traditional bowhunting but the story transcends the weapon. I’ve heard from all sorts of people ranging from non-hunters to hard core riflemen and all have had nothing but praise for the film. That’s something I never really expected. I think that’s because I’m very careful about not pushing my own views onto others. I know I do things different and the majority of hunters just don’t share my level of interest. But, I think all hunters would benefit by taking an honest hard look at why we hunt and what we’re really after. That’s something I think very few of us ever really do. This film, in a way, is my attempt to do just that and to show the world what I found. Enjoy the film and don’t forget to share it.
Thanks, ch

And just how am I supposed to maintain my practice shooting and scouting (never mind working for a living) when this is available? 😉
I waited and waited over here in NH for the tour to make it this far, to no avail. Thanks so much for making it available, and you can bet I’ll be sharing it!

Clay: Just watched the movie. Fantastic!! I already forwarded it to several of my hunting friends. Great film work and music, a great job all the way around. Thanks for making it available to everyone!

Congratulations on a superb film, I can’t imagine the amount of work and effort that has gone into the making of it through the seasons.
Looking forward to your next project, Mark.

Truly impressive Clay! What a wonderful piece of work. It’s easy to see your heart in this work and I will share this with all that I can in the hope that it will be the catalyst that opens their eyes so they too may see what passion and respect for Wild Places and Wild Things means, and that we should never forget that we are ultimately responsible for its prosperity!
My hat is off to you Clay. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks everyone, for the comments and for helping to spread this film around. As of a few minutes ago it had over 5500 views in just 2 days. That’s pretty damn good.
I’ve heard some great comments, even from some “hi-tech” sites where it’s been posted.
thanks again, ch

I want to offer one (of many) thought I had about the film….it’s refreshingly not “human centric”. The film is what I hope to be another ray of light in a huge door kicking – that, IMHO, we SHARE this planet with other life no less valuable in the end than our own.
