Since the cat is out of the bag, I thought it time for a formal announcement. After three years of volunteering as a moderator on Tradbow.com, Dave Petersen has decided to step back and concentrate more time to his writing, hunting and family (not necessarily in that order). I expect we’ll still see him around from time to time, and he’s still a big part of the “TBM family.”
I hope that the rest of you will continue to welcome new members, post in a polite and professional manner and bring a lot of great conversations to Tradbow.com forums. For now I am the only moderator, so please contact me if you see anything against the rules. We want to maintain the same high standards we’ve always had.
Dave, I am eternally grateful for all your help. Thanks for guiding this site and the underlying principals so that we can all have fun and learn something. See you around, my friend. 😀

Thanks Dave for your experience, expertise and willingness to help the rest of us.
Great good Luck on your Future endeavors !!
Please write more books, as I find them all a pleasure to read.

Your wry humor, sage advice and unabashed personal perspectives will be sorely missed, Dave.
I guess the rest of us better step it up – we’ve got some big shoes to fill.
And the eastern Idaho offer will always be there, compadre.

Thanks for all the help Dave.

Well, I have no wise words. But I can imagine the relief, and add to that springtime and turkey hunting…
Take a walk with Caroline and the boys (whichever ones these days) and breath in the glory of life!
Looking forward to whatever the new writing produces…

Thanks Robin, and tradbow friends. It’s good to know that I may have made at least as many friends as enemies while playing moderator. 😈 Trouble was, as time went on, I had gotten compulsive about this site and was spending hours a day at it and “fretting” way too much about details … hours I really need to be working to supplement my (anti)Social (in)Security income, or walking in the woods, etc. This same thing happened a couple of years ago when I resigned as Trout Unlimited’s CO public lands conservation director and as CO BHA chairman — the work had taken me over and was diminishing the rest of my life, so time to step back, relax, let the blood pressure normalize … and go hunting even more. I’ll always be an enthusiastic tradbow member, so you’ll still be plagued with my opinions from time to time, but I need to get things back in balance. With very few exceptions, you guys have been an absolute joy. Some of you have become good friends, and almost all of you have earned my deep respect. This is easily the most polite, thoughtful, intelligent and therefore fun hunter’s website in existence and I’m sure Webmother Robin, with your ongoing help, will keep it that way. Some of you may not know that across my three years as moderator, Robin twice had to delete my posts. 😛 Cheers, and big thanks. Dave

Dave, just this morning I listened to a radio program about time and how man has tried to manage, measure and control it only to be controlled by it and I guess the same can be said about the internet.
Enjoy your release and I look forward to reading your ruminations and hunting stories in the future.
Don’t be a stranger, Mark.

Thanks Dave, it has been nice to have such easy contact with you here. I hope to still be reading your posts… You’re an important part of this forum for me… todd

Really going to miss your input here at TBM,David…..You inspired a lot of us to just open our mouth and our minds and put in our two cents worth. Gonna miss you, man. I felt like I made a friend. Hope our trails cross someday and I’m able to meet you. It’s been a pleasure, sir! Wayne(Strait-Aero)

Wayne and other friends, I am not leaving the site, which is the only hunting site that holds any interest for me. I’m merely stepping down as moderator because it was getting to be “too much.” I’ll still be lurking around to upset the apple cart with my rants and rank opinions, but now as a player rather than a coach. Thanks again to everyone for your well-wishes, as opposed to wishing I’d fall down a well. 😛 Cheers, dave

Excellent Job, Dave! I hope you don’t completely disappear and come around and share your knowledge and hunting experiences with us. There are always many facets in life, and next stages. Wish you Health, Happiness and Success in all your future endeavors! God Bless.

Dave,
Thanks for your hard work and insight that you put into this site. As one new to the sport in the past few years, this has been a great place to get information and comradery of folks with like interests. Discovering your books was a terrific find for me. When I read your interview in the Sun I was amazed to find someone had words for some much of my feelings about hunting.
I look forward to reading more of your words and learning more about your hunts and adventure.
Peace, david

Let me add my voice to the chorus. Dave has done a fantastic job. Of course, you will all continue to enjoy Dave through the magazine. While way too many in the outdoor press are caving in to the bad guys way too easily, we can all rely on Dave to keep holding their feet to the fire. Don
