Enjoyed your video Clay.
I don’t point gap, shoot what’s referred to as instinct, and that makes it hard to overcome that subconscious command to let go.
Your video is another reminder to work on the let down process again :D:D, and more often.
It is a good way to start a shooting session for me, to draw back, settle in on my target relax and not loose the arrow, let down.. Hard!!! Hard!!! Sometimes it don’t happen, it’s hard to beat the brain that that’s decided it’s on target.
I’ve noticed with me that the further away I am from my target the let down gets more difficult???? Duh, me, distance should not be a factor methinks.
The best shot one can make sometimes is letting down from a drawn bow.
Brain games…………….
Like old Reese said, “It’s simple but nobody said it’s easy”.
If we could put a safety on a drawn bow like the safety on a rifle, have it unknowingly engaged, we might be surprised how many times we “jerk the trigger”.

Hey Clay,
I just went out in the yard and tried the whole letting down thing. There’s much to be learned there.
Thanks.

Clay, thanks for the tips. Took me a few days to write this, but I’ve tried the let down several times and do think it helps. Keep em coming! Thank you, dwc

Great work Clay, I don’t shoot that way but I enjoy your videos and I must say I’m always jealous of your self bows! You have some real talent there! For the record… I’m on failed self bow attempt number 4! Got some new wood seasoning now so maybe by spring I can regroup and continue my soon to be published book, “How NOT to make a selfbow” LOL!
Great stuff, keep ’em coming!
