        Hello!

I live in Australia, and I am having a very hard time getting feathers here. The cheapest feathers I can find available is $23.95 for 25 standard solid colour feathers and $37.95 for 25 Barred Feathers. And then $15+ shipping and handling fee.

I noticed on websites like 3Rivers archery, I can get all the feathers I need for 12 arrows for under $25 (24 4″ Black Shield, 12 4″ Red Barred Shield). However… a $40 shipping and handling fee to get them to Australia. Which I find very expensive for a feather weight package that would weigh less then 50 grams.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any places in Australia, besides AbbeyArchery ( I find them EXTREMELY over priced for all of their items ) that sells affordable feathers, or even anywhere overseas that sells them, but doesn’t charge outrageous shipping fees.

        Cheers.

Hi, and welcome to the site. Hopefully our active Aussie members will be able to help.

I can’t speak about the feathers, but I can attest to ridiculous shipping costs. Our US Postal Service raised prices in January 2013 and it is a crying shame what we have to pay to ship to foreign countries. I’ve had many complaints and I know on our site it costs more to ship a book than the actual book costs! I feel bad about that, but there isn’t anything I can do. Sometimes package size has more to do with it than weight.

I suggest you call or email 3Rivers and ask them if an adjustment can be made to pay actual shipping costs based on weight rather than shipping based on price.
