Found an older bow which I pretty sure is a Martin. But The Limbs don’t seem to fit quite right. This is the first T-D bow I have bought,,right price,,. The riser is marked 2430 buy the stablizer hole,,down by the bottom limb mount is marked WHD5538. The quiver and plunger inserts are brass,, and there are two steel inserts on the belly of the bow, where the limb bolts would pass thru if long enough. Different threads though.(have no idea what these are for) The limbs are marked MTDL 5214 63# @ 31″ “amo 62”. Since there is quite a gap on the ball-bearing side of the mount when the limbs are attached. I am wondering if this is a ‘Frankin-Bow’. I don’t have a problem whittling on the bow to make it fit better, and a refinish job to make it mine. Just need to now about the bow first. And no,, Martin has not called be back.

        Thanks ahead of time.

If I remember right Martin bows have an insert in the riser for the limb bolts and what looks like two ball barrings to alien the limbs.

The inserts on the belly side are most likely for a belly mount quiver. Can’t say I’ve ever them on a Martin bow. The stabilizer and side mount quiver inserts are the norm on Martin bows.

Thanks Troy, This bow does have the limb inserts and two ball-bearing alignment system. I didn’t think of the belly mount quiver, (never used one of those) So thanks for that insight. I am wondering if the gap between the riser and limbs are normal on the ball-bearing side of the mount?

Well,,,Found out that this Riser is from a Martin “WartHog” around 1985 or so,,that is a wheel bow. Some one has put the recurve limbs on it. knew it didn’t fit right. I guess it is called a “Wrafhed” bow. Diffently gonna whittle on this bow.

Will post a picture on here when done if any one is intrested.

Still looking for the identy of the limbs.

The pictures tell the whole story. Still, with alittle work it will be a nice bow.

                          Welcome back!

You have two options as far as an avatar image goes – you can paste an image link from a hosting site, such as Photobucket, ImageShack, Flickr, etc. In my experience, Photobucket in particular is notorious for changing image links over time, which might be why your former PB link isn’t working. You can upload it to PB again, and then paste the new link into the avatar link bar. Or…

You can also just upload an image directly from your computer. I believe there are size limitations however, so if it’s a big pic, you might need to shrink it.

                          Hope that helps!

Sorry folks. I’ve been MIA for a bit since our new granddaughter was born yesterday, a monthly early. (She’s fine!) Real Mom / Meemaw beats Webmother every time. 😆

Between our system changing and PB changing it’s kind of gotten tricky. 👿 I replied in the Photo thread with some suggestions, but I’m always happy to do it for you. Probably the easiest thing is for me to reactivate your old account. 😀

Update: I got the old picture to work on your new account. Still email me if you want to change back to the old account. Webmaster@tradbow.com
