Black Widow Grey Bark. 57lbs. The guy never even told me but it’s backed with western diamondbacks done at black widow.
This bow is a little heavier than I’m used to so my arrow setup will have to change. My 3555’s only shot okay with 90 grains up front so I’ll have to go to 5575’s.
The bow is a little noisy too so I’ll mess with the brace height and install yarn silencers instead of the beaver hide and string silencers on it now.
I haven’t shot a bow this fast since I shot a compound. There isn’t an inch of drop out to 20 yards and seemingly every arrow I shoot goes “there”.
Best bow I’ve ever had my hands on and most beautiful. It’s an 09 but it looks like it just came out of the factory.
Look out turkeys and then bears!

Nice grab….glad you are enjoying her!

Makes me all the more anxious to receive my new ” REPLACEMENT ”Super Kodiak from Gainesville. Then we can shoot in different places together .:D:D:D
Ha Ha!
I love one pieces. Doubt I’ll every buy a takedown but you never know. Love the simplicity and light weight!

I can tell you that this is by far the sweetest bow I’ve ever put my hands on. When we hunt at Blackbeard Island, you get to hold a lot of trad bows, but I’ve never felt one like this.
If somebody stole it today, I’d drop the cash on a new one of the same model immediately.
I have a 1960’s Damon Howatt Monterey (hunter) that I thought was about as sweet a shooter as could be made, but I was wrong. Widow’s are worth the money!!

Great looking Widow! Congrats!

I bet you’ll find that the heavier arrows will help a fair bit in quieting it down as well.

That is a beautiful bow Etter!!
I like the trad look of yarn balls and I haven’t found anything that works as well as them.
Plus, I don’t want you to say that I followed you:D

LOL! Don’t worry about following me, I’ve got Otter fur silencers on mine.:D

Etter — A new bow is like new love … it may last a lifetime or only a few nights … but either way new it’s new (even if it’s used, so long as it’s new to you) and sure is fun while it lasts! 😀 I can think of very few things better than a new bow … well, only one thing in fact! … enjoy!

Know what you mean Dave:D
This one’s going the long run. I can promise you.
It probably sounds silly, but I can’t even leave it in the garage with my other stuff. It’s laying on a deer hide in my upstairs “man room”. 😀

Nice bow son.:D

As it should be.

Nice riser, great tree bark color! Especially without the red and gold stripes, of which I’ve never been a big fan! Good luck with it, man!

You better take care of that bow… And clean your garage out too!

Jeez, this bow has been a bear to tune!
It wouldn’t shoot my 3555s at 30 inches unless I dropped the head all the way down to 90 grains.
So I bought a half dozen 5575s. It won’t shoot them at 32 inches unless I drop the weight down to 90grs up front either.
So now I’m cutting one arrow down to 30 inches to try that.
There’s no way this bow is 57lbs. It must be a good bit higher. Don’t have a bow scale though.
At any rate, they’re going right where I want them to, just wobbling a lot on the way!

Not all lbs are created equal? The bow might just be so efficiently transferring energy that the stiffer spine is required. Good luck with your tuning 🙂

It’s like tuning a compound again!:D
Okay, when I shortened the 5575s to 28 inches, they fly perfect. About to go try a broadhead and see. I only wish they were a little longer because I shoot tree sharks that come back over the shaft about an inch and these get awful close to my hand at 28 inches.
Total arrow weight is about 465 grs and FOC is at 18 %. Arrows come flying out of this bow so I imagine that’ll be okay on deer and black bears.
Gonna keep experimenting a little bit.
