Found these guys in the river bottom last week:D I’ve never even heard of morels this big.

There’s a fungus amongus! Trophy morels, for sure. Tastes differ as to whether blondes, like these, or blacks taste better. But most agree that the blondes are easier on the stomach for folks who have a low tolerance for shrooms. I love ’em all and am jealous as we had none this dry spring. No need to say, “Enjoy!”

Nice Clay! Instead of eating them, you might want to consider having them mounted…full body mount of course. The “european” mount really doesn’t do morels justice.

Just to be clear, I’ll add this —> 😆

How do you measure a morel for the books anyway? I think the one in the last pic may just make it.

Just to make you all jealous, we had grilled elk filets and sauted shrooms for dinner that night:lol:

Nice shrooms Clay, you definitely picked some contenders for big ones! They look good, I know you’ll enjoy them…

Hope you just culled the herd and left some for seed….:D

Very nice mushrooms. We had a great crop in Wisconsin this year as it has been very wet.

I notice in your picture, a plastic bag for collection. Next time, take a open net type bag. That way as you hunt further, and/or on the way back to your vehicle, you’ll spread spores for future mushrooms and more mushroom hunting.

                      Enjoy!
