How could a guy go about finding a close value for a Bear Super Grizzly 45@28 LH one owner bow. Perfect condition. It was bought new by this older gentleman in 1968, so im guessing its that year or a few earlier. He said its hardly been used and its been in a case all these years unstrung and since he knows im in to trad archery he came to me to see if i’d be interesting in buying it. I have no idea what these are worth. Any help?

Nick — Did the old gent have an asking price? Or are you expected to make an offer? A friend recently paid $200 for a ’68 K-Mag, in good but not excellent condition, and I’ve seen them sell for more and less than that, but unfamiliar with the SG. If the seller is wealthy I’ll try to pay as little as possible, but if he is selling off his stuff because he’s desperate for money, I’ll pay more. A bow is “worth” what buyer and seller agree on, though someone here should know the “norms.” Good luck, H.

do a search on ebay to get an idea of current value.

I personally don’t know, but I do have a suggestion: I think you’d get more help if you’d be more specific with the thread title. Just as I did above for the reply. 😉
If you want to, you change yours by going to your original post and clicking edit. Then just change the title.

eBay is the single largest market for used bows on the planet. Lots of people gripe about its role in inflating prices . . . except the sellers. 🙄
When you do an Advanced search, you can specify under “Search including” for “Completed listings”. This will return results for what bows actually sold for.
