That is a good age for them to get started and I think they’ll have a blast at the shoot. There are three ranges and it’s non-competitive. There are also novelty ranges, a playground and tons of other kids running around. There is a river very close by the camping area. Food is available onsite (hotdogs, burgers, ice cream bars, etc.) as well as showers, ice and (I think) firewood.
All day Saturday seems to be kids day. Yours would probably fall into the pee-wee class where they will have a craft project and probably a bit of shooting time. Older kids will learn things like tracking, maybe a bit on conservation, sometimes animal anatomy, it just depends on who’s volunteering this year.
