Here’s a quick look at how to install fur silencers. They sure dress up a trad bow.

Hi Clay, whats your view of wool as opposed to fur silencers.
Mark.

I’ve never used wool silencers but I’d bet they would handle wet weather better than fur strips. Fur tends to get waterlogged, even otter or beaver. It’s not usually a problem. A pluck of the sting fluffs them out. Fur strips just look cool.

Thanks for you considered opinion I will experiment a little at the weekend.

My experience is that wool puffs work much better at silencing a bow. I havent found anything better yet. Having said that, my black widow was a little loud at first so it wears both wool puffs and otter fur. The combo has got the bow whisper quiet again.
Great video!

Some bows just deserve fur silencers. My selfbows all wear them. Enjoy your vids Clay.

I’m a fan of otter fur, it seems the tighter short hair works better than the longer thinner type furs. Musk rat would be my second choice. Fur just feels right.
