How many of you use binos when hunting in tight country?
-
I ALWAYS carry a set of small bino’s while hunting close cover. They help me see into dark shadows and deep into or through the brush. Would not be without them! Through the years they have located many a ‘hidden’ animal for me. My chosen set for the last several decades has been a set of Zeiss 8×20’s. In more open country I use a set of Leitz 10×40’s.

You look good all cleaned up and shaved!
I sprung for a pair of swarovski 10X50’s last year after I gave my Nikon Monarchs to a friend to settle a bet.
I thought the Nikon were nice, which they are. But the Swarovski’s are way better.

Been using Docter Optics for a while, very satisfied with their binos, spotting scopes and rifle scopes. Money spent on good glass is never wasted and should be good for the next generation, just not yet.

Another exceptional video. I do have a predicament though…. I started wearing glasses and even with the eyecups in, I get a very narrow field of view. The glass I have is very good…. Leopold BX-2, but they are not conducive to eyeglass wearers. Any suggestions?

I never hunt, hike, or just take a walk without my Binoculars. Vortex 8×28 for regular use, Bausch&Lomb 8×42 for real birding. I replace the strap on the vortex with para chord and use one of them spring loaded keepers to adjust. They hang so that my hand can move them directly to the eyes with minimum movement. And they don’t interfere with drawing the bow.
As pothunter said money spent on good optics is an investment.
Clay–another great video.

Great video Clay. 😀 Us old hippies liked your beard, you could lose the funny looking haircut.
Embarrassed to admit it, but I use the 8×21 binos I got with a Sports Afield subscription years ago… OK, decades ago. I have newer, better binos, but these just work better for me (think they are made for people with glasses). BTW 40′ is a long away in a lot of our woods.

It’s already back:D

Clay, I was flinging a few arrows with Chris Reade Wednesday lunchtime, looks like my order has moved down the priority list again….. one day Chris if you read this.
He makes a nice knife, I’ve seen these evolve over the last few years.

I use my binoculars religously. Woods around here are tight and it’s difficult to “peel” the layers with the naked eye. Helps me to slow down as well. Wouldn’t go without ’em!
