A very kind gentleman just donated a one-year online Premium Membership to an active duty military person. That sparked my generous nature and I will match his donation. Now this is for the digital version of the magazine, no print copy in the mail. You would need internet access and possibly be able to download to a computer, but you don’t have to. It can be read online.
I’d like to open this up to our forum members first, so how about it. Any active duty members out there? Serving overseas maybe, where you can’t get Traditional Bowhunter. For the rest of you, how about a family member or neighbor who might be interested. Non-members can email me at webmaster@tradbow.com.
I’ll keep this open until next Monday and then do a random drawing to select the two winners. And “Thank You” Tom K. for such a kind gesture.

Thumbs up to you Ms. Robin and to you Mr. Tom K.
I have no one in that catagory, but hope you find one of our military brothers or sisters overseas that would love to have it.

I don’t know anyone in this category who is a trad archer,
But it is an outstanding idea and wonderful support effort for our Service folks –“least we forget”
Thanks Robin & Tom K

Great idea, wish I could supply a name.
Good on you Tom and Robin.

Not Active here, Air Guard. This would be a great for someone who is deployed. I’ll ask around, we have several people deployed at the moment, and they sell TBM at the exchange so I know there is a huge possibility that there is an archer from the base that is overseas. Thanks for doing this, its little bits of home that keep us going at times.

just as a sugggestion, maybe getting in touch with a place like Wlter Reed or BAMC (Brrok Army Medical Center) would get some ideas? I am Army, so that is what I know, but my brothers and sisters from the other branches might have ideas about wounded warriors. BAMC has a burn center which had soldiers that could definitely benefit. Also, getting in touch with an MWR (Morale, welfare and recreation), or even a USO. Maybe TBM can go out to the USO(s) or they can have their own account to log-in for military members waiting in airports. I have no issue with getting TBM to our men and women who are deployed, but let’s not forget the ones who have served and paid a high price for us. To be honest, I will throw my name in the hat and donate an online subscription too. Robin, just let me know where to send a check.

Thanks, Alex. The cost is $20 and you can send the check to:
Traditional Bowhunter Magazine
Attn: Robin Conrads
P O Box 519
Eagle, ID 83616
I am willing to donate these subs to any active (or recently active) service member; guard, local, foreign bases, combat or wounded. I get feedback from many service members that they don’t care which weapon is used, they enjoy the hunting stories. We don’t have to find someone who already likes our magazine, just someone who might enjoy it.
I also have a couple of other avenues, I just wanted to give you guys first crack at it if you knew someone. Nate, isn’t your son in the military?
I also want to thank all of you who have served in the past. T.J. was in the Air Force when we were first married and I know how hard that life is. I appreciate your service, in whatever capacity, because I know the sacrifice each of you made. 😀

I talked to my son today, he would love to have his name put in the hat. He is my stepson, but neither one of us know the difference as he has been under my roof since he was a year old. His Name is Aaron Adams, and he is a MP at Fort Polk. Thanks Agian…Nate
PS: You talked about Sacrifice- Hows this for Sacrifice- I have Drill On Sept. 15th and 16th:shock:, that’s right, the only two nights without a moon in the rut. The things I give up for my Country…LOL…Just Kidding.I have buddies in the Gulf right now, so I can’t complain.

He’s in Nate, and at this rate it’s a pretty sure thing. 😀 Any of your friends in the Gulf are also eligible. Sorry about drill weekend. Isn’t that always the way? Hopefully the elk will still have night blindness by the time you get out there. 😉

Nate,
I feel for you buddy. Sept. 29th is opening of Archery here in PA and I am on a bus for Fort Drum for a mandatoryBA. Have to do SRP. Sometimes I wonder myself. Oh well. I knew about it before I joined.

I am active duty stationed at Spangdahlem AB Germany. I have a bunch of friends that have started getting into archery (since they cant hunt in Germany with a bow never have time to achieve hunter safety course for rifle hunting due to long work hours being aircraft mechanics) and asking me questions even though im not the most knowledgable. It would be amazing to donate to active duty military members. I agree starting off with wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center or any other rehabilitation center as im sure they are at their lowest point in life. I have no problem donating a couple subscriptions!!!!

Ya, same here. I should be ashamed for even bringing it up as there are a bunch of guys that are deployed that haven’t seen thier kids, more or less hunt.

Nate,
I agree, but if we ain’t complainin’, we ain’t trainin’. 😆 I really feel for all those away from their families, and all those who have been injured. It’s easy to forget about how lucky we truly are and how bad it could be. Just important to keep up the support. As I drive around, I notice far fewer flags and yellow ribbons. I know that doesn’t mean that people stopped caring, but showing those overseas that we still think about them (like this thing Robin got the word out on) are, in my opinion, real important.
Be well,
Alex
